  2. Soy Sauce (1.0 tbsp)
  3. Natural Rice Vinegar (1.0 tbsp)
  4. Fat-Free Chicken Broth (2.0 tbsp)
  5. Garlic Powder (1.0 tsp)
  6. Mixed veggies (frozen) (1.0 cup)

  • Heat the soy sauce, vinegar, and chicken broth.
  • Add garlic and ginger to blended mixture for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the chicken and the vegetables, stir until veggies are tender and chicken is opaque.

  • Stir-fry Tips:
    In cutting ingredients make sure to cut it into small even sized pieces so that you could be sure that all ingredients were cooked evenly. You can also buy in the grocery store precut vegetables for stir-frying but it will cost more. In chicken strip cutting, you can place the chicken in the freezer for about ¾ to 1 hour to firm it up or if the chicken was frozen, cut it into the thin strips before it is completely thawed.

    Select a metal bowl or wood utensils for stirring and tossing ingredients because if you will use plastic material, it might melt when exposed to the high temperatures used for stir-frying. Make sure your work area is clean after you’re done on cutting the chicken. Wash the cutting boards in hot soapy water after each use and use a mild bleach solution periodically.
  • Tips for Frying Chicken:
    Do not remove the chicken skin while cooking, if desired, removed before eating. Frying a chicken takes time but you can shorten it if you cover for the first 5 minutes of cooking and then uncover for the remainder of the cooking time. When placing each chicken in the pan, use tongs or spatula, because if you will use fork, the juice in the chicken will escape. Dry all utensils or equipment before you use them because water will make the oil splatter when heated. Use cooking oil that is healthier with right amounts of saturated and polyunsaturated fats. When frying is done, immediately remove the piece of chicken from the oil and keep it warm in a baking pan coated with paper towels. Once chicken has finished cooking, do not cover the chicken because covering will cause the coating to lose its crispness.
  • Freezing Tips:
    On freezing, do not use wax paper because it is not a moisture proof and should not be used because it would not hold the moisture in the meat. Pack all meats with contents and date it was frozen. When thawing chicken, it is best to thaw it in the refrigerator, in a cold water bath, or changing the water every 30 minutes; or in the microwave but not in a room temperature.
