  • Ground Turkey Facts:

Ground Turkey which is also known as minced turkey is a combination of dark and light turkey meat with remaining skin and noticeable fat processed together until a “ground” form develops from the machines.

Here are some cooking tips in order to make the best meatloaf:

Proper handling of the mixture is the most important tip that is highly recommended when cooking meatloaf. If the mixture was handled and mixed too much, the ground meat will become dense which results to a tough and drier loaf after cooking.

If you are using ground chicken or ground turkey, it is important that you add a lot of binder to avoid having heavy and compact loaf.

To make light texture meatloaf packed with vitamins and minerals in each serving, you can add other healthy ingredients that will also add flavor and moisture on the loaf.

After cooking the meatloaf, set it aside for 15-20 minutes before serving. This will redistribute the meat juices and resulting a juicy, tender and perfect meatloaf texture.

You can put the meatloaf in the refrigerator if it won’t be served immediately. When you’re about to serve it, just take it out from the fridge and thaw in the microwave for few minutes.

If you freeze the meat before cooking, it is recommended not to thaw it, instead put it in the oven and bake 1 to 2 times longer than the original recipe recommendations.
