Medifast Lean And Green Chili recipe

Ingredients Needed

  1. Grilled Chicken Breast Strips (6.0 oz)
  2. Immature Green Chili Hot Peppers (Canned) (0.25 cup)
  3. Scallions or Spring Onions (0.125 cup of chopped)
  4. Cumin (0.5 tsp)
  5. Chicken Broth, Bouillon or Consomme (1.5 cup)
  6. Chicken Noodle Soup (Low Sodium) (1.0 cup)


Enjoy a healthier bowl of this Mexican classic. Serve with warm bread or tortilla chips.

  • Measure all the ingredients and place them in separate bowls.
  • Get the can of green chilies, slice them if desired as to get everything mixed well and in proportion in the chili.
  • Get a pot and set the flame on medium heat. Once the pot is hot enough, add the chicken breast until it absorbs some of the heat from the pot. Prevent it from sticking to the pot.
  • You can now add the chilies, noodle soup mix and the chicken bouillon to the chicken. Stir until everything is mixed and starts to simmer.
  • When sauce starts to simmer get the scallions and cumin and add them to the mixture. Stir all the ingredients together and let it cook on low heat for 30 minutes. Always keep in mind to stir occasionally to avoid it from getting burnt.
  • Combine and cook in low heat for 30 minutes.
  • Serve in a bowl. Garnish with green chilies on top (if you have extra chilies)

    The most commonly used chilies are the bird's eye, habanero, jalapeno, serrano, poblano, cayenne and yellow wax. A chemical exists in chilies that weigh its spiciness it's called the capsaician and the unit of measure for the hotness of a certain chili is called the Scoville scale.
    The mildest peppers are the cherry, yellow and bell peppers while the hottest are the jalapeno, cayenne and the wicked habanero. The smaller and thinner the pepper, the hotter it gets.
    The best way to cool off your mouth after eating a chili pepper is to immediately consume dairy products, the higher the fat in the product the quicker the effect of soothing your mouth from the hotness. Starchy foods also work, they absorb the heat. Chugging down iced water wouldn't work ease your burning mouth because capsaician is insoluble in cold water!
