Banana bread is a regular favourite of many foodies and not-so foodies out there. Aside from its nutritional benefits that mainly come from Banana, you can make it even healthier by adding healthier ingredient to it like oats! In this Nutrisystem Banana Bread Baked Oatmeal Recipe, two of the healthiest, yet delicious and easy to cook food will definitely take you Gastronomia.

  • Divide the banana into ¾ parts and ¼. Crush the largest portion (1/4) in a medium bowl together with 1 cup soy milk. Bananas have twice the amount of carbs in an apple, five times as much Vitamin A and iron and three times as much phosphorus. In addition, bananas are also rich in potassium and natural sugars making it a super fruit.
  • Add in 1 tbsp ground chia, ½ tsp of cinnamon and ½ tsp of nutmeg. Mix in as well ½ cup oats, 2 tbsp chopped walnuts,1 tbsp sugar and blend through well. Recent studies shows that oats can help increase appetite-control hormones that are essential for individuals that are on a diet but is still health-conscious.
  • After properly mixing all the remaining ingredients, ladle into a greased oven dish. In greasing the oven dish, others may suggest you use butter for a more flavourful taste but vegetable oil is a better choice since it is more effective in preventing the cake from sticking than butter.
  • Slice the remaining part of the banana and lay on the top of the mix along with choc chunks and nuts adding a little extra unrefined sugar.
  • Bake at 180oC for approximately 20 minutes until the topping is golden. Serve immediately. Banana Bread can last up to weeks and months if stored in the fridge or in the freezer and it will not lose that distinguished yet delightful taste.
