This is a rich and creamy pasta dish combined with tender chicken breasts and crunchy broccoli. The Alfredo sauce is a classic Italian pasta sauce that’s smooth, rich, and creamy. Best of all, this recipe is diet friendly.

  • Prepare all the ingredients as indicated in the recipe above.
  • Cut off the hard part of the Broccoli stems. Use only the top part which is soft to the bite.
  • Broccoli actually belongs to the cabbage family. And it’s the plant’s flower that is used as a vegetable. It is high in vitamin C and dietary fiber. They reportedly also contain nutrients with anti-cancer properties. It’s definitely good for our health.
  • Take out your steamer and steam about a cup of chopped broccoli. Steam your broccoli until they are soft but still with a bit of crunch. This might take around 5 minutes.
  • Alternatively, you may just blanch your broccoli in boiling water. Dip your broccoli for about a minute or two in boiling water. Take them out right after. Shocking the vegetable this way will allow it to retain it’s dark green color while maintaining it’s luster and freshness.
  • Aside from Broccoli, you may also add other vegetables like carrots and peas. Carrots are high in antioxidants , minerals, and dietary fiber. It contains a lot of beta carotene which turns into vitamin A upon digestion.
  • The carrots and peas not only add nutrients to the dish but it also adds color which makes our dish more palatable. Every good cook must learn to take note of this because every diner eats with their eyes first before their mouths.
  • If adding carrots or peas, you can steam these as well.
  • Take the Nutrisystem Chicken Alfredo pack and heat the contents in a microwave or over the stove.
  • If using a microwave, peel one corner of the tray to allow steam to vent out then set the microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the package is hot or when you see steam coming out from the vent you created.
  • Over the stove top, you can reheat the Chicken Alfredo by submerging an unopened pack in simmering hot water for about 5 minutes.
  • Once you’ve reheated the Chicken Alfredo, carefully open the whole pack.
  • In a serving plate, combine your steamed broccoli with the Chicken Alfredo. Mix them properly so your broccoli is coated with the Alfredo sauce as well.
