Ingredients Needed

  2. Bell Peppers - Raw (0.5 cup sliced)
  3. Onions - Raw (0.5 cup of chopped)
  4. 40% Less Sodium Taco Seasoning Mix (2.0 tsp)
  5. 100% Whole Wheat Tortillas (1.0 tortilla)

This is another great recipe to spice up your Nutrisystem meals. This Chicken Fajita recipe are spiced with Mexican flavors that we all love. It’s a tasty meal you can enjoy with vegetables. And best of all, it’s diet friendly!

  • Prepare the ingredients as indicated in the recipe above.
  • Take your Nutrisystem Grilled Chicken Breast patty and slice it into strips.
  • Alternatively you may use any boneless and skinless grilled chicken breast if you’re not using the Nutrisystem pack. Just make sure it is compliant with the diet that you are following.
  • Roughly slice your bell peppers into strips as well. For maximum effect, use different colors of bell peppers. If you can get them use green, red, yellow, and even orange bell peppers. The more colourful your dish is the better.
  • Remember that we eat with our eyes first before our mouths. This means that we start salivating ones we see how good a dish looks. Using a lot of colors will aid in making our dish appetizing.
  • Roughly chop the onions into strips as well.
  • Take out your sauté pan a lightly coat this with cooking spray. Or alternatively, you may swirl a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil to coat the entire surface of your pan. Wipe out excess oil with a kitchen paper or towel.
  • Saute your onions and bell peppers until they’ve released their flavors. This will take about a minute. Don’t brown your vegetables.
  • Add the chicken breast strips and sauté them until they are slightly browned on all sides.
  • At this point, pour in the Taco Seasoning Mix to taste. You will probably need around two teaspoon of the seasoning mix.
  • Remove the pan from heat and set your dish aside.
  • Take your whole wheat tortilla and heat this in the microwave or stove top. Just follow the preparation instructions that came with it. Most would require about 10-15 minutes in the microwave. While over the stove top, you can heat it until it’s a bit crisp and browned.

  • Roll the tortilla to wrap your filling inside. Your dish is ready!
