After 2 weeks on Medifast - My Story

It's Sunday morning August 26th and I have just put a wrap on 2 weeks staying OP. After getting out of bed I went to have my weekly meet and greet with my new WW digital scale as the old school Taylor scale is in the closet..

    Short Western theme.

I approached the scale this morning with confidence due to the fact that I have stayed OP with no slip-ups and successfully hit the gym 4 times with a combo of 45mins of cardio and 30 minutes of free weights..

I swear I could hear that duo Western Cowboy Music from the movie The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and a few tumble weeds rolling past me as I approached Mr. Scale..

So I stepped on Mr. Scale and he clocked me in at 246.4lbs and I was in disbelief that I had won another fight against the war on scales. I finished off this duo meet with Mr. Scale with my toes smoking from the rounds of fat fired while standing there staring down at Mr. Scale..

    Okay NOW back to reality:.

The battle isn't over, but another 6lbs gone and a total of 14lbs in 2 weeks thanks to the Medifast program and all of the amazing success stories that I read on a daily basis. The support from the discussion boards has been great too..

The toughest part of this past week was last night at dinner with my Fiance. I had a plan before we left the house. Salad with Salmon cooked plain on the well side and lot's of club soda to compensate for the usual (before Medifast plan) Vodka Sodas I would have while out. I was a bit cranky within my own head, but well composed. This had been our first date night since being on the Medifast plan as we didn't have a date during week 1. Anytime I took eye contact off my Fiance I would see either a Martini, Pasta dish or some type of desert like brownie sunday or Apple pie flying by in 3D.

The date was a success and I was very close to ordering a drink, but didn't and I am taken back by my will power on that one lol..

Tips for me getting through week 2.

***Sandy's kitchen and all of her great recipes has literally changed me from just salad and chicken too so many other tasty items ("Thanks Sandy and all the others for your creativeness")..

***Reading 3 success stories every morning at 530am after I open my eyes has pushed me to get out of bed head downstairs to my home GYM and train hard as I don't want to lose any muscle that I have and keep my blood pressure in check. Good music and or shows on the iPad help, especially with cardio..

***Last, but not least my Fiance/best friend for all of her support and creating my L&G every night..

P.S. Not sure why my update weight of 246lbs isn't showing on my ticker below, but maybe I did something wrong?.

    Thanks for reading,.

    John-.

CONGRATS! What a great feeling, eh! I used to have a hate/hate relationship with my scale-hated to get on it and hated what it revealed, but we've become best friends since MF! You did GREAT on your date night and I promise, it WILL get easier now that you have that one to chalk up on the WIN column!.

Congrats John! You are doing great and have a wonderful attitude! When I read,.

"The date was a success and I was very close to ordering a drink, but didn't and I am taken back by my will power on that one lol. ".

I KNEW YOU HAD IT! You have what it takes to make this program work for you!.

I decided to write you for that reason but also to share my husbands success. We started 13 weeks ago. He is 6' 2" and started at 268. As of yesterday he was 216. He looks so awesome and feels great! We go to the gym together which has been great activity we do as a couple as opposed to our usual Happy Hours. It's amazing that he has lost 52 lbs in 13 weeks... I am suspecting that will be your progress as well!.

Best of luck to you and KEEP ON PLANNING like you did for your dinner out! PLANNING is your best friend now!.

    Congrats on your weight loss!.

WOW!! What an amazing success story He is my height and was almost my starting weight. 52lbs in 13 week is incredible! I am very optimistic and always look at the glass 1/2 full, but I would happy to be at 220lbs in 13 weeks. I will take your advice also on the continued planning before we go out for lunch or dinner. Thanks again.

John - Congratulations!!! You are doing terrific! I feel your pain over the dinner last night. There have been a lot of times I've been out with my BF and watched him eat a lot of yummy things and have felt miserable. He is in great shape and can eat whatever he wants and not gain an ounce! But it does get better, and it's not bad all of the time!! I had a houseful of people over for dinner last night and had a great time. We sat at my dining room table for hours after dinner while they ate soft pretzels from Philly Soft Pretzel Factory, chocolate covered butter cookies, pecan swirl coffee cake, and drank beers. At the end of the night, my friend turned to me and asked how I sat there all of that time and didn't eat any of that food. When I told her I didn't want it, I honestly think she did not believe me!!! LOL!.

As for your ticker, it doesn't update automatically. You have to update it with the ticker factory each week (or as often as you like)..

    Crissy.

Congrats, John! You should be very proud. This is the end of Week 4 for me and I'm usually very good about staying OP, but.I fold like origami whenever there's alcohol around! LOL!.

The more I think about last night I think it was also the sounds and buzzing going around lol. I am generally 2 glasses of wine or a few cocktails at dinner and I just couldn't do it. I look at Medifast as a double impact for health. First with weight and looking great and then with avoiding the drinking quote "1 is too many and a thousand is never enough"..
