I completed the first month of insanity a few weeks ago. After the first month, I started to get bored of always doing my workouts inside when the weaker was getting so nice. I do wish I would have stuck with it, as I saw an amazing improvement in my strength in just a few weeks. I blew all of my fit scores out of the water each time I completed a fit test. The biggest surprise was when I went back to my running route after 3 months of hiatus, and was able to power through 3 miles of hills that I had never been able to do before, even when I was running daily for months! It definitely is worth a go, even now I am using some videos for my workouts on rainy days.
I did the first month and really enjoyed it, I have an injury preventing me from finishing at this time but plan to pick back up when I am able. Also interested in Turbofire - I think it's more for burning fat and slimming down where Insanity is about cutting up your muscles/body. Good luck if you go for it :)
I completed the first month over winter break, but once I got back to my dorm, I just couldn't do the workouts because of how loud it is for the people downstairs, so I didn't complete month two. I'm determined to do the entire program over the summer.
it will totally kick your butt for about the first week and you won't want to move in the morning, but if you stick with it your body adapts and gets used to it. after the first two weeks I was already seeing and feeling results.
the basis of the insanity workouts is to do as many reps of different exercises as you can in a given time interval, so how much you get out of the program is going to depend on how much you push yourself during each workout. if you're willing to put the work in, insanity is a great way to get in better shape.
I love insanity, but i love the gym more! I followed the program for a little while and saw great results. Now I follow a video once in a while to change things up a bit!
I just got my program in the mail. I am going to start it this weekend instead of on a monday like the wall calendar says. I am givng myselft 2 days to be sore ! LOL
I've done it a few times all the way through, excellent program! I'm not a gym rat, get lost figuring out what to do. Home videos I can do, just follow along. Now that my fitness is better, I do enjoy getting outdoors too, going for runs, hiking, etc. But I start the day with a fitness video.
If you do a search for "Insanity workout", I see it listed. It's generic, and calories are set at 712, which not everyone will burn. You could create your own, name it for that day's routine. I wouldn't log each move.
I have done Insanity twice: once on its own, once as a hybrid with P90X. I saw an AMAZING increase in my endurance.
