Clothes size shrinked from Medifast

So I stopped in to my son's school and went to see two of his old teachers - they both are overweight but very stylish dressers and always look great. They've been cheering me on from the beginning so when I walked in their classroom they both started yelling and screaming for me! One of them says she is going to try Medifast especially when I told her I haven't started exercising yet and I've already lost 70 lbs!.

However, they immediately started giving me &^% for wearing my clothes too big. Now, I was wearing a size 26/28 t-shirt but I had taken it in on my sewing machine. And I was wearing the size 16 jean capris I just bought 2 weeks ago and was thrilled to fit in. I think these pants are too big already! And I clearly need to ditch the 26/28 t shirt even if it's altered. So NSV, right? I have gotten rid of so many clothes I have hardly anything to wear. I've never shopped at thrift stores because they have so little in plus sizes, but maybe now it will be worth a look..

Well of course it's an NSV!!! And I think it's safe to buy some new clothes, and most certainly a thrift store would be beneficial considering you're still losing weight and all. But bask in that for a moment, you're worth it.

    Definitely an NSV!!.

("Non-scale victory," Tinn) It's probably time to retire the 26/28 shirt. LOL!.

I also have a very small selection in my closet these days. Feel like I'm wearing the same stuff over and over..

But, I'm not complaining, really I'm not!!.

Cherry, Its definitely an NSV, and yes, I agree that you need to be wearing smaller clothes. The smaller the better!.

I have created a pic a few months ago which shows how clothes size can impact your appearance... I don't want to hijack your thread, so let me know if you are interested in seeing it..

Yes as I was typing this I realized it's a bit ridiculous to wear a 26/28 tshirt, even if I did take it in some on my sewing machine. This was a great reaction - the best I have had - and it felt amazing! Thank you for all the kind words. Now that my kids are going back to school I'll plan to do some thrift store shopping - hopefully it will be more fruitful than my previous attempts..

FanTastic! I have finally given away most of my larger clothes - luckily I was able to closet shop and so now have things that fit me. Will take some of my faves to a tailor to have them made smaller. I did get kinda a kick out of wearing clothes that were hanging from me.... made me realize how far I came. I didn't really care that people were laughing at me!.

I find that I am oh, so ready to wear clothes that fit ~ as soon as they fit. Once something gets slightly baggy, I'm retiring it to the "big shelf" (to wear when I'm desperate) that is next to the "give back shelf" (for when I'm DONE). I'm either giving them back to Goodwill or my sister....

...my sister is giving me clothes hand over fist, lol. She's been losing, too (the good old fashioned way, mind you). Started at a 16 and is now in an 8. She's almost done losing and 8's my goal size! She's a "clothes-a-holic" and can afford it ~ ONLY nice clothes. I'll give hers back to her so she can consign them. There's a big market for that here.

They will be a regular maintenance and beyond store for me!.

That's awesome!! Go get some new clothes girl!!.

Hello, my name is Lisa, and I'm a clothes-aholic. I actually converted our spare room into a closet/office for me because I had so many clothes..

I've finally weeded most of the too-big stuff out, and now I have exactly 6 outfits that fit me well. It's really funny, and I totally feel your pain in having next to nothing to wear. Perhaps I'll be able to turn the "cloffice" back into a guest room someday. Thanks, MediFast!.

Great NSV! I remember my Mom getting on my case about my clothes being too large for me. I love thrift store shopping. As one loses so much weight it's a great way to be in the correct size and not spend a lot of money to do so. I went through so many sizes!.
