I have been on Medifast for a week and have really stuck to my guns, unfortunately I work overnights and dont drink coffee so usually rely on 1 20 oz bottle of diet soda... is that allowed at all? Tried the MIO before and that was great also, but are they both OP and if so what is the limit?.
I'm curious about this as well. When you go to "My Plan" where you log in your meals...click on the little "i" next to the water box..
It says "Each day, drink at least eight (8) cups (64 ounces total) of water, as well as any calorie-free beverages such as unsweetened hot or iced tea, herbal tea, coffee, diet soda and sugar-free drink mixes". But it does not mention a limit...?.
Diet Soda is OP. Just watch out because I think there are some that still have carbs... some orange soda... not sure if it was Crush or something else. I just remember seeing it in a thread somewhere. But as long as it has 0 cal 0 carb you can drink as much as you want.
Nutritional Support says that MiO should be counted as a condiment..
From what I have read in the forums, diet is OK. Make sure that it is in addition to your water. Have you tried any of the infusers? I use the calorie burn one. It has 100 mg of caffeine in it, the same as a cup of coffee. I drink one in the morning, in place of the coffee I used to drink. I also drink one in the afternoon for a pick-me-up.
Also, be careful as some of the diet sodas have quite a bit of sodium which can stall weight loss if your body is sensitive to that..
I have to really watch my salt intake as it directly affects my weight loss. I have found that on days where my sodium is toward the upper limit it can affect my weight loss for 3 days or more. Sadly, at the end of the 3rd day I don't magically loose the weight I would have lost had I not had the salt..
May not affect everyone but just another thing to be aware of....
I have been having one or two diet cokes a day and still losing. but, I am drinking all of my water plus some. I am giving up my wine and samuel adams, I figure I have to have some pleasure in life, I love diet coke.
Drink mixes, if from powdered such as crystal light, count as 1 condime.t per serving. Many have more than 1 serving in each sleeve, so make sure you read the labels. You are allowed 3 condiments per day..
Diet soda - No limits except for those with caffeine. Caffeine is suggested that you limit to 3 servings per day.
Unsweetened tea- no limits except for the caffeine issues above..
All packets of sweeteners count as condiments, including stevia. Products like Truvia or Purevia count as multiple condiments as they have more carbs per serving than other sweeteners..
All of the about are IN ADDITION to 64 oz of water..
Why would Mio be considered a condiment but diet soda is not? They are basically the same thing. Zero everything and they same kind of sweetener..
I just ordered some capella flavor droplets for my water because too much MiO can be a problem due to the kind of sweetener they use, same as in diet soda..
I have to day that at the end of week 2, I did not loose any weight. And I figured out that it was because of the diet coke I was drinking all weekend....So I am def one of those that diet coke WILL stall the weight loss. I am offically going back to never drinking soda. EVER..
