I'm looking for ideas on what to get at Starbucks (known from here on as "SB")..
I don't drink a lot of caffeinated drinks, but I like to have one every now and then - now that fall is coming, I am looking for something warm and tasty..
Usually I have a mocha rtg shake in the mornings, but the center was out of stock (they can't keep them on the shelves!) and so I've been getting by with dark chocolate rtg shakes..
I went down to our SBs and asked for something good and sugar free. They have a wide-range of sugar free offerings, BUT they use fat-free milk. And I only get 1 tablespoon a day for THAT (or three, I guess)..
So does anyone have any ideas for good SB drinks?.
I wish I could add a good flavor for Starbucks, but I don't. However, at Books a Million, (if you have one nearby) I love their Southern Pecan. Good flavor and doesn't need any sugar, just a little 1/2 & 1/2..
Just get yourself a regular brewed coffee or an iced coffee with a shot of one of their sugar-free syrups. Then add some half and half from the little pitchers they put on the place by the door with the sugar, stirsticks, etc. Or if you are driving through, ask them to put a bit of half and half in it for you..
They have lots of good sugar-free syrups and it's cheaper to do it this way than to buy a sugar-free latte or something. Double benefit!.
Usually I make my own coffee and bring it to work, but today I got a small unsweetened iced coffee from SB and added 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk that I brought in a separate container. It was delicious! Next time I might ask them to add some sugar free vanilla syrup....
I order a regular brewed coffee with a shot of SF vanilla and then add half and half OR I order an Americano (espresso and water) with SF vanilla and add half and half..
YES! Two stops from my office on the train - I can get there for lunch and walk around the little plaza. The only problem will be getting out of there without spending all my money on glossy interior design/architecture magazines. LOL. :-) Thanks for the advice!.

Have you checked out Houzz.com. It is like having a thousand magazines at your finger tips all the time. I love looking at interior design magazines. Houzz is the next best thing!.
