It would be cool to see exercises and such laid out in calendar format. It can be very motivating (see Garmin Connect for a good example).

Need more graphing options for weight, calories, etc. Add something like 30, 60, 90 days instead of just 14 days and 6 months.

I don't see a way to go back and edit exercise information from previous days like you can with nutrition. It's a bummer if you make a mistake.

On the phone app I would like to be able to scan bar codes for nutrition.

I think going up in level should be at least more flashier. For now it's fairly disappointing and anti-climactic, the only reward (figuratively speaking) is change in numbers and reset of the experience bars.

I'd suggest a sort of splash-screen with "Congratulations, you are now lvl %(n+1)%. You can has %selected reward%. Choose the reward for the next level"

I also feel like level progression should be a little faster at the beginning. First 3 levels might just be 50, 20, 500 points correspondingly, given that leveling up would be flashier. You can make a "reward" only available from level 3 upwards, in case this might be a concern.

Two more points, unrelated to my previous post.
    1) I've had a hard time figuring out where the heck are "my challenges" located, but this might be attributed to my absent-mindedness, unless noone else complains.
    2) I'd like the ability to input food intake for previous day in case I forget to log what I ate after the fact.

"Check in" and "I did it" buttons on other's challange lists are very confusing. Especially, if you never participated in those challenges.

I just joined but I don't see anything (like a graph or something) that automatically deducts daily exercise calories from nutrition calories. That would really be helpful. (calorie balance)

Also, on another site I've used in the past they have the option of private journaling to track emotional health (since so many people are emotional eaters) and also the option of allowing one's fitness trainer to see selected journal entries.

It might also be helpful to have a health assessment quiz with scoring according to recent blood tests (ie. glucose, lipids), smoking habits, measurements, etc.

I like the reward idea about water intake mentioned. I set one up right before coming to this forum. It may also be helpful having health condition specific goals--for diabetics, high blood pressure, etc.

Eventually, maybe after beta phase it could be helpful to have a section on or include videos in the exercise posting area on how to do certain exercises without personal injury.

I'd also like to somehow be able to manually enter certain exercises and for nutrition I'd like not only to be able to search but have a list come up with the words I'm using in case I'm a word off here or there (I hope I explained that ok).

I'd also like somehow to be able to edit challenges that I create in case I mess it up (bad spelling, grammar, etc)

Most of the suggestions I'm making are from what I've seen on prevention.com's health tracker and anytimehealth.com's tracker. But I think neither of them utilize rewards well enough--that's why I'm hoping this site will take off and do well.

I was also wondering if there was some way of integrating virtual "gifts" of encouragement (like an icon saying "way to go" or a picture of flowers, etc)--maybe only small gifts allowed during the challenge and a big one after-- or maybe have a "trophy case" of accomplishments. Perhaps these could come out of one's accomplishment points or out of something else (not sure what) so that there won't be people hitting the roof, so to speak, of levels or rewards. I don't know. Just a thought.

Also, if you have advertisers then perhaps, in addition to the "Giveaway" you could add coupons for certain health products as virtual "gifts" that people can give each other for encouragement or rewards. Personally, I'd love a coupon for some of the rewards shown as icons--a coupon for an itunes song or album, a coupon for a shopping trip, & though not listed--for a cappuccino at a cafe.

    ok--I'm done. for now.

One enhancement I'd like to see is the exercise value for "around the house" kinds of activities. For example, in Weight Watchers you can get activity points for cleaning, vacuuming, etc. Also, a generic "playing outside with kids" with light, medium and heavy levels would be a good activity for the moms and dads on here!

For the challenges progress bar, I think it would be better if you only have the progress bar go up when you check in. It progresses automatically now, which makes it confusing, and kind of defeats the purpose of checking in, if you don't get a consequence for not doing it. If that makes sense. This way, it's too tempting to just click "I Did It!" even if you didn't, just to get the points.

I would like to see different levels of intensity on the elliptical just as we have different speeds for walking/jogging. Some days I take it easy, for example if my warm-up is on the elliptical, while other days i really hike up the resistance and speed if it's my main cardio exercise.

Hi again! I thought about another interesting feature while comparing this site to the one I used previously to log food (totalcoaching.com, a payed site for witch I got a limited time subscription with my gym subscription): recipes vs meals. I don't know how hard it would be to program but it would be very useful to have it here too.

The recipe feature is useful for recipes I always make the same way, for example, my sweet potato soup or beef stew. Then there is also the meal feature. This is mostly useful for recurrent meals that we prepare always a bit different. The ingredients are entered and saved as we do for a recipe, but when we add the meal to our food for the day, it adds all the items in separate items, rather than as one item (ex. sweet potato soup).

For example, one of my meals was 'salad', witch included all the ingredients I usually put in a salad (lettuce, avocado, bell pepper, olive oil, etc). Since it is added to my tracking in separate items I can easily add more lettuce without changing the amount of dressing, delete the avocado, add eggs, etc to fit the salad I had today. It's easier and quicker than adding all the ingredients separate, while being easier to customize from a day to the next than the recipe.

Having this feature could possibly also fix an issue raised in a comment I saw earlier about recipes being +1 point for tracking food while adding manually all the ingredients gives us the points for the veggies, protein, etc.

I see I have to do a C & P so you know what I am talking about.
Also, A live chat of some sort, either group or private, would be nice to just get live input and feedback on things you may be struggling with or sharing ideas that have worked for you. Regional groups would also be nice.

I have to say as a prototype I think the site is great and can't wait for some up dates. No one gets it right the first time. windows 3.1, 95, 98, me, xp, vista??? what was that and then 7. I can't wait to see how it plays out over the next year and if I meet some friends and get fit along the way I will be excited. We are looking forward to the updates.

I'd like to be able to track my food in advance. I know we can track past days, but we cannot track for tomorrow or any days in the future.

If I can track at least one day in advance, I will know if I am going to be over my goals before I pack my lunch and snacks for work. As a teacher, I need to leave so early to get to work before homeroom starts that adding my food in the morning or making my lunch then is impossible!

I also like to plan out my meals a week ahead of time (we plan on Friday night, shop Saturday and prep on Sunday). Being able to plug everything in for the next week before our Friday night planning session would really help me make sure I am staying on track.

When we make our own challenges, it would be nice to be able to change the icon. Either upload a picture or have some to choose from. Not a super important feature, but a cute one.

Something I would love to see...

When you create your own challenge I would like to see a way to record progress. I've seen other sites where, when you create a goal you might, for example, put down "Run 100 miles in 30 days". You would create a goal of 30 days in length and have the option to add a measurement... the 100 miles. Then, each day when you check in you can enter the miles you ran (if you did any) and it would track it for you. Garmin Connect has something like this and it helps a ton!

You could have measurements of miles, minutes, reps, moments, calories, oz., servings, days, items, etc.

I would love to see actually nutritional break down of foods(vitamins, minerals etc) to see where decencies in my diet may be.

It would be helpful if the text boxes for the comments would let you know when you've reached the 500 character limit and how far over you are! I keep typing long responses and then having to cut them down, but I have no guideline to measure by!

Just downloaded a really nice app to the iPad 3 called Lose it. You could check it out for some ideas on how to streamline food and exercise tracking. I love the barcode scan option for foods.
