Just want to let you know that your tastes WILL change and you CAN do this..
I've been "MF-ing" since May and though it's slow (for me) and in the first 3 weeks I had some really huge life challenges (that Pre Medifast would have had me eating my weight in potato skins) I'm sticking with it. I'm almost 1/2 way to goal...I feel so much better and my new.
"small".
Scrub pants are falling off me.
AND...I now find myself "craving" a Medifast Brownie or soft bake or shake...so hang in there...the first week is the hardest..
Yes, the first week is definitely the hardest. Then you start seeing the results and that adds a whole new level of motivation..
I actually really like most of the Medifast foods, and look crazy forward to my Medifast cocoa in my coffee every morning and my soft bake cookie dough (with flax seed) every night. Yum!.
I'm on day #3 of my last re-start ever and I was able to wear a shirt today to work that I bought a month ago and couldn't fit until now.
So it does shed quick results but the only thing I'm expecting is to stay on plan and know that even if I face a week or more of no loss on the scale I'm still becoming healthier and still feeling great that's my new motto ... WE CAN DO IT!.
Agreed!!! I LOVE MF. It took some time but I have settled in my "medi-groove". There are definitely foods that I will probably always make sure I have handy, even in maintenance..
I completely support the advice to hang in there, it can happen for you too..
This is my first day and it has been absolutely crazy, shocking emotional. I ended up having a small antipasto with oil/vinegar. So I went off plan with some lunchmeat. But I am sticking with the rest, eating 5 Medifast meals. I have a headache to beat all headaches. I am peeing a river. If I am able to continue to diet medically, I look forward to it..
Its all about making the decision to succeed. Is it always going to be easy? Of course not. Nothing worth doing ever is..
Don't like something? So what. There are lots of Medifast choices. Find a few things you like, start there, and branch out. I'm still working on my first box of "eggs" (two packets left!!) That was actually the first thing I tried. If I had let my reaction to those things derail me on day one, I wouldn't be her now, three months later, down almost 60 lbs..
I had a headache the first few days as well, what is with that? I also struggled with the evening munchies, but after receiving the Medifast brownies and having one in the evening that has been taken care of. Tomorrow will be the end of the first week for me, guess I'll weigh in and see if it's been successful or not..
NewB's- When you start MF, ignore your taste buds like a bad in-law....they are not your friend. Eventually, you learn to tolerate these new "tastes" rolling around in your mouth. You do eventually stop having the "do I gag or swallow" fight with yourself. And Miracle of Miracles...some, if not much of the food, actually starts to taste good! I know that now it may seem like acquiring a taste for roadkill, but you'll get over it, truly you will. We can all attest to that..
Remember with MF...the weight loss IS the motivation!.
