I was thinking today...What are my rewards for hitting my goals? I know that for most of the women in is going to the spa, getting a mani/pedicure, shopping day or new purse...As much as I need a new purse.

Lol those rewards aren't going to work for me....

So guys, how are you rewarding yourselves for hitting your goals?.

I was thinking, there were some nice Dewalt tools I needed to get yet...Haven't gotten the table saw I have been wanting for a couple years now..

Hey, you can't go wrong with Dewalt! I might have to add a table saw too, great idea!.

I need a new cordless drill. I had a Milwakee, and just can't seem to bring myself to buying a cheaper one. I may dry a rigid. My Dad uses Dewault and raves about them, maybe I'll look..

For my reward, I have been going bird hunting without feeling guilty. Usually I feel like I need to do more around the house, but the Mrs. said to indulge until after season is over and make up for it then by letting her have uninterupted scrapbooking time. Sounds like a winning idea for me..

In the end, just being comfortable in my own skin (loose, though it may be) is reward enough..

Hahaha, of course there are women out there that are not typical...I married one. She would rather be playing in the mud, and she wouldn't be caught dead in a dress (in fact she doesn't even own one). I have taught her how to fix her car herself, and she now has her own set of tools I am not allowed to use!!!.

I was just interested to see how the guys were rewarding themselves....

    Nice one Chickie!!.

I kept mine a little more simple. Round of golf, unencumbered day of football watching, etc. I would have loved a table saw or radial arm, however..

Me personally, I put my rewards into the 'support my active hobby' category. which for me was a new helmet for my 200 lb goal, and a new set of fingered gauntlets for reaching final goal. I've yet to order the final goal one, but have talked to the armorer who is going to custom make them for me, and will do so probably when we get our tax return (about $1200 bucks, and have to give half down at the start). Helm was custom too - ordered in May, and it arrived today ::Grins::.

Tried to get a pic to post, but no go - will have to do so later. Until then, link:.

I'm not a tool guy (hopefully that doesn't mean I have to turn in my Man Card) but I'd probably treat myself to something electronic. If it's a gadget of some sort, I'm interested. Oh, and a nice new set of clothes. I'm not much of a clothes guy, either, but it'd be nice to shop somewhere that doesn't have the words "Casual" or "Male" in it's name..

Oh, and teflonpaladin, I'll have to show my son that picture. He's been having a ton of fun with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and, over the past week, Skyrim. He'll get a major kick out of that..

    Im a tool junkie too..

Maybe a vintage copper toolbox? Something like this?.

I picked up a really nice vintage machinist box last year on ebay..

This company has some really fabulous things to splurge on:.

I have that identical toolbox! It was my grandfather's post WWII until he retired in the 1970's. At some point he had painted it, but I used a fine grit on my bench grinder then buffed it and it shines like new!.

I didn't give myself any specific reward. Just looking in the mirror and then looking at my old drivers license photo is reward enough, LOL. Of course I had to invest in a lot new clothes. I used to hate shopping for clothes. Now it's no big deal..

+1 on the DeWalt table saw, by the way. My wife got me one for my birthday last year. One of the best tools I ever got..

I've given this a bit of thought..

    1. A bowl of my mom's homemade chocolate pudding. She hasn't made it in years, but when we were kids, it was quite the treat. She will make some for me when I hit goal. Might be the last time I get to enjoy it, as her health has been declining. She will make me a homemade pizza, too, which she hasn't done in many years.

Even though food rewards are risky, the real meaning of these is more about family heritage and childhood memories than eating. Plus, my mom loves to feed her kids..

    2. A kilt in Clan Donald tartan. Actually, as much of the whole ensemble as I can afford. Not buying something chintzy, either. I've wanted to celebrate my lineage for some time, but couldn't fathom spending the dough on a kilt when I weighed 350. With a trimmer belly, it will actually look right smart and will become my new formal wear..

    3. Do the Cooper River Bridge Run 10K with my sister. I've never run in any race or fun run. Being able to share this with my sis will be quite a reward. She does it every year..

    4. Train and do a section of the Appalachian Trail to keep the dream alive that I will someday do the whole trail in one season. Have dreamed of this since I was a kid, but haven't been in shape to do even a single section. That is about to change..

All in all, I think it is a pretty balanced reward list, pudding and pizza notwithstanding..

I never heard of garrett wade...Looks like they have some nice stuff....

I like what the poster a few up said about electronics...My hand built computer is almost 4 years old...Was crazy high end when I built it...Maybe time to update processor, memory, and motherboard as a reward for hitting my goal..

I'll be treating myself to some car parts, driving is my true passion and being 100 lbs lighter only helps around the track..

Oh and an 18v Dewalt Cordless Impact Driver would be nice....

The only thing that stops me from buying a junker and fixing it up, chroming it out, is I live in MN and we have a 2 car garage and both my wife and I park in there during these frigid winter months (and I am not willing to give up my spot and have to scrape ice off my windows)..

Can't say I blame you at all, luckily the weather here isn't all that bad and usually have fair warning beforehand if it plans to be inclement, so I can shuffle cars around if needed. Also, I track my daily driver so I get the best of both worlds there!.

When I did have a garage queen and I needed the space I would just move it outside and put a good quality cover on it. As long as you get one that fits well and you can cinch down tight, you're good to go until spring-fall when it can occupy the garage again..

    My reward "plan".

    1. One pair of jeans whenever I drop down a size; new wardrobe when I'm able to sustain weight maintenance..

    2. TaylorMade Burner driver when I move from BMI obese to BMI overweight: 195 lbs based on my height..

    3. Ongoing: take my Labrador Retriever for 3 mile walks on a daily basis. Being out of breath and chest pains were gone during the first 10 lb weight loss..

New one-piece race suit for me! Rewarding and safe! (at least that's how I'll sell it my wife!.

"honey, loose leather hitting the track is bad" (it really is)!.

I believe a rib eye steak with a baked potatoe with a few glasses of gentleman jack will be had when I hit goal...

But I plan to buy myself a climber deer stand since I will be of weight to use one... also looking at buying a Allison or Bullet bassboat cuz I like to go fast.

Wow, I feel so outta place on here as i'm a gay man (not the super gay flaming type) but I know nothing about tools and cars LOL..

For every 20 pounds I lose I think I'm gonna buy me a new trendy outfit. For every 50 pounds I think i'm gonna have a Spa day. Once I hit my goal, i'm gonna buy really good tickets to a concert..
