Anybody out there doing the Couch to 5K Program and can tell me how to count it in the Exercise log? I am just starting a regular exercise program and have this App on my iPhone. Can't wait to get started!.

I completed C25K last month, very addictive! I did not track it in the Medifast exercise log, I have a FITBIT and tracked it with that and My fitness pal app..

I just finished week 1 on the C25K! I started a October starters thread, but haven't had many responses yet. I'd love a buddy!.

I don't track it in the exercise tracker though. Sorry..

Good question. I've been labeling it as a jog/walk combination. It's probably not that accurate, though..

Getting ready to start it myself as soon as I get my shoes in the mail. I had to order them on-line due to them not having my size at the local sporting goods store. My hubby used to run marathons and was adamant about me getting the correct shoes before starting..

I am on the road ASAP after they come..

Hoping to be able to start running 5K's starting in January..

What kind of shoes are they? I am curious what kind of shoes the wife of a runner gets!! I usually pick up whatever fits!.

Thanks for responses! I am also interested in what running shoes you purchased! That's the one thing holding me back right now! And I would live to be C25K buds with anyone!.

I have just started this program as well and love it! I'm in week 2, day 2. I have just logged it as 15 minutes running and 15 minutes walking. Wasn't sure how else to do it...it isn't like I'm going to eat more calories / day based on exercise anyway, which is what MFP attempts to show you using the exercise logged....

I am also thinking of doing the cough to 5k program. Our local Y is having a 5k race in the spring, and I am hoping to be close to goal at that time and I thought it would be a nice reward/accomplishment if I could run one..

Why don't we keep this thread going with our accomplishments/suggestions/encouragement and times when that time comes.

WHAT KIND OF SHOES ARE THESE PUP?!?!?!.

I know you're not asking me, but the new shoes I just bought are these:.

I LOVE them. It really is woth the time to go to Luke's Locker or RunOn! to get properly fitted. I was having pain in my hips that was completely fixed by the right shoes!.

@Sunshine- I got fitted for those back in May as a reward to a goal. I was videotaped and was shown that I tend to move my foot so much- I was shocked I didn't turn an ankle. With an insert, I was able to keep my foot in place- thus, be able to run further and to experience a vast decrease in shin pain and heel pain..

Well, he sent me to RoadRunnerSports.com and said that I needed to get the stability plus shoes. They have a method to tell you which shoes are best for your size, foot shape and how many miles you plan to run..

I decided on the Saucony Powergrid Hurricane 14. They are a little pricey ($139.

), but he said it is important to get really good shoes so you don't injure your feet/ankles..

I tried them on at ****'s Sporting Goods and they were real comfy, but didn't have them in a big enough size. They recommend getting them about a half size larger than you would normally wear for swelling & such..

So, just waiting for them to come in the mail. Hoping by this Friday....

Very important - if you are going to run often - get fitted for the right shoe!!! I am training for a half now and just recently replaced my Brooks with Adidas. I had been fitted for the Brooks. My Brooks are done - did my first half in them.

When I went to replace them recently, the store didn't have the correct style in Brooks, but had them in Adidas..

The first time I was fitted, I wasn't videotaped, so I didn't see how I run. The second time I was - I run in a complete STRAIGHT line.. I couldn't believe it. One foot in front of the other!! All those new to running - be careful, is addicting!!.

    ..

    Good luck to all!!.

    Christine.

Running shoes- Asics is a very good and popular brand. It would be best to go to one of those specialty stores bc they can tell you exactly where you put pressure, etc. I am using a pair of Nikes right now, but my favorites have been the Asics and I think I am going back to them soon. Besides getting a good running shoe, you should also get a good insole. I always replace these. The ones that come in the shoes are very thin, so it is best to purchase an insole that has good padding..

I just wanted to say that I signed up for a 6K on Thanksgiving. (It's kind of a weird course, so it's a 6K, rather than 5K.).

It feels great. I don't expect my shirt to fit, though. That will be for next year....

What a great way for me to get started with the C25K. I downloaded the app to my phone, I have the Mizuno Wave Precision 12 running shoes and a treadmill in my basement. I will begin today!!!.

Just need some input about which app ya'll use for the C25K. There are so many to choose from, some are free and others not..

Please tell me which one you use and what you like/dislike about them..

I have one that was free, so I may get started with that one, but if I can get some reviews about some others, I may switch..

    Thanks so much..

    Marcie.

I have the one by LOLO. By Jeff Galloway and a few others. But the LOLO one is the easiest. Starts with 15 second runs..
