Okay, so I've tried everything I can think of to be able to drink coffee. Black, with 2 Tbsp FF Half & Half (but don't want to waste the fat so early in the day), with shakes, puddings, etc. Nothing is palatable. Please, someone help me figure out how I can have my coffee and drink it too!!.
I, too, love my coffee in the morning. Here's what I do...coffee (decaf) w/3 tsp Coffee Mate light dairy powder. The coffee mate powder gives it just enough creaminess and for only 30 calories!.
I put like a gallon SF French Vanilla Coffeemate in usually so I have just axed it out completely and started drinking one 5-hour energy a day. I LOVE IT! 15 calories, no sugar, no carbs, no fat. And I am not really an energy drink fan, but it keeps me plenty energized and headache free. I used to drink up to 3-4 cups per day!.
I use liquid stevia (sweet-tea brand) in my coffee and a splash of SF creamer which I count as a fat. I love my coffee and found that the liquid stevia is much less carbs than the powdered splenda!.
I've been using Coffee Mate sugar free liquid creamer. Its 15 calories p/Tbls. and I have several cups of coffee each day, so I count my coffee creamer as one of my medifast meals until my order of vanilla shakes comes in - and yes, I know the creamer and medifast are not nutritionally the same, but they are similar in calories/fat/carbs. What can I say, I need my coffee.
I couldn't stomach black coffee (it is typically extremely strong here in Seattle), so I changed to Americanos. A single tall americano is a great drink- smooth, not bitter, doesn't need anything in it and way less caffiene than drip (which means I can drink more of them). I do have a cheapo espresso machine at home which helps..
Try a different brand of coffee. I can't handle Starbucks or any other premium coffee. I drink good old Safeway brand, medium roast (I think) in the purple can, no sugar, no creamer. Drinking this for years..
I like mixing coffee with the chocolate shake, tastes like a mocha to me. Only um, make sure not to shake it when the coffee is hot or else it will explode all over your shirt and you'll have to hide in your hoodie all day...
Thanks guys! EMTFreakGirl I tried your idea this am. Not too bad, might have to try it warm one time. And Spazzyhilo I'm going to try your idea tomorrow. I've just got to find a way to have some coffee...lol.
P.S. I used to be an EMT too (still work in EMS), went to college in MT, and also have one of my goals as matching the weight on my drivers license....lol (Luckily I don't get stopped much (knock on wood) or I would have been called out a long time ago!)..
Ok here is what I do...I mix either the Medifast hot cocoa or cappucino with 1/2 cup of water and wisk out lumps...then I pour it into a huge 16 oz mug. Then I top it with my coffee...stir and yes you dont need to add any cream at all. Sometimes I add a half tsp of splenda and thats it! It tastes amazing! Both of them...so I gave up cream forever and I get in a Medifast meal at the same time!.
I blend my morning cup of coffee with either a package of vanilla pudding or hot cocoa. I end up with a Medifast friendly version of a latte. I know it may not seem palatable now, but give it some time. Your tastes will adjust. Plus, this allows you to save your fats and condiments for a tastier L&G..
2 Tbsp Half & Half (Regular... not the fat free. Can't really be a healthy fat if there's no fat, huh.
) is a healthy fat. 1 Tbsp Half & Half is a condiment..
So I use 2 Tbsp half & half. I will count it as either a healthy fat depending on what I eat for my L&G or count it as 2 condiments. And I use a drop or two of EZ-Sweetz.... which is just like diet soda and doesn't have to be counted as anything..
Here's the Nutritional Support thread RE: EZ-Sweetz.
I don't normally use any more condiments for the day, so it works for me and I love my morning coffee this way. I've tried mixing with shakes, etc and I just don't care for it..
Ally - Do you LIKE coffee? I'm having a hard time deciding if you are looking for something to put in your coffee as a replacement for regular creamer, or if you are looking for something to actually make you like coffee. hehe..
I LOVE IT! I teach at the FVCC, too (the EMT-B class for the county.) I can't imagine ever doing anything else! OOOH....and I'm glad the coffee worked for you!.

I have heard of people using vanilla shakes in their coffee. Maybe try mixing your coffee with a packet of Medifast Hot Cocoa?.

8ounces Iced coffee.
Ice.

Blend....creamy coffee goodness. I've also warmed it up (and omitted the ice) after blending. It's yum-o, too! (tho' frosty is my fave!).
