I've been on Medifast since Mar 11. At first my thought was "this stuff isn't really that good". Now I like a lot of it. Everyone is different in their likes and dislikes. Keep it simple and I think in time you will feel better about the taste of most of the items. (Some I will never be able to eat, but there are so many to pick from).

I don't often make recipes, but there are many on the board. Stay OP and you will be thrilled with the results!.

The hard answer: you just have to get through it. This is your first week and your body is rebeling like crazy trying to get you to fall back on old, bad habits that gave it easy energy to expend instead of expending energy via stored fat. Prior to MF, you've been overstimulating your tastebuds so all you like are things that are super savory or super sweet. You have to give your body time to detox and settle down..

Once you get past that, you'll find your taste buds have calmed down and you are then able to develop your palate for the Medifast food, as well as leans and greens you formerly didn't like..

MF works in part because it is easy (very little preparation or thought required). The other part requires more of a commitment from you as well as a change in attitude/perspective. Recognize that the food you are eating isn't meant to be a culinary delight. Its sole role is to give you nourishment. Eat to live, don't live to eat. Food is fuel only, and we need to look elsewhere for comfort, satisfaction, and entertainment..

Fortunately, the portions are small. I found I could chug down 8 ounces of nearly anything. And half a cup of solid food could be out of the way in just a few bites..

Eventually, you'll find the items you do like well enough to continue. And several weeks in, you may be surprised to find that things you didn't like initially are actually something you enjoy now. Keep an open mind and imagine how great you'll look as the weight falls off faster on this plan than pretty much any other plan out there..

I too, am not a big fan of the oatmeals, but found that if I add one tablespoon of milk after in comes out of the microwave, it really helps with the taste and texture (I mark the milk as a condiment). I've only been on the plan for 6 days so I'm not exactly sure if this is 'allowed' but I figure it's better than breaking down and eating something not on the 5/1 plan!.

Leesalogic summed it up beautifully. Stick with it - and if the oatmeal doesn't get any better for you, well now you know what NOT to order next month!!.

Welcome Mimi! Try making the oatmeal into a bar or muffin. The simplest recipe came from Fozzboz... Pour a packet of oatmeal into the bottom of a rounded coffee cup or into one of the brownie trays. Mix with 4 to 5 TBSP water and microwave for 1 to 1.5 minutes. I also add a sprinkle of cinnamon before mixing, and it is one of my favorite Medifast meals..

    Hi and welcome to Medifast!.

For the cream of tomato soup and broccoli soup mix with 1/4 cup of cold water to form a paste and then mix in 3/4 cup boiling water. I do this with the hot cocoa too makes for less lumps. For the chili it needs to soak for four hours to overnight before microwaving to make it yummier/better consistency. I also pre-soak my Maryland Crab soup and Chicken Noodle soup for a couple of hours before microwaving. The Chic Nood soup tends to boil over in my microwave so I usually only have to nuke it for 2 minutes..

Most all of the bars are delicious. I happen to like all the oatmeals I mix them with 3/4 cup boiling water and then let sit for 5 minutes..

For eggs my friend told me to mix the eggs with water and let sit for 5 minutes and then scramble in a pan on the stove top versus microwaving I like them okay. For the pancakes mix and then pour in a pyrex custard cup or a coffee mug and microwave for 1 minute 10 seconds or so to get a pancake "biscuit".

Remember if there is something you do not care for you can ship back an open box (only having used 1 packet) in exchange for something else of comparable value..

Hope you can work out your program I've lost over 80 pounds thus far! Best wishes for your successful journey!.
