Not OJ Simpson... orange juice! When I started Medifast I was really cynical about the whole 'no cravings' claim, but after 3 weeks I have found that I don't really want any of the junk I used to eat! There actually are pretty much no cravings... except for FRUIT - I really want OJ and raspberries and strawberries and watermelon!! I take this to be a positive thing, that my cravings for crap have been replaced by cravings for healthy stuff. So I am looking forward to goal/maintenance when I can have OJ and raspberries again! In the meantime the orange shake will do.
Today, I felt positively decadent! I put my sloppy joe over a big salad with salsa. This was actually "over greening" as I haven't had supper yet. But for about 15 calories for the lettuce with minimal carbs, it was better than just about anything else I could have chosen. Who knew that lettuce would feel so amazingly luxurious?.
Oh yes!!! I was an OJ fanatic for years before I started MF. Miss my OJ, together with black mission figs, blueberries and bing cherries. Although I miss them, I don't.
Crave.
Them. I have adapted. Luckily my longtime love for Asian cooking has helped make dieting absolutely wonderful..
I like having the strawberry shake made in my vitamix as a slushy. It fulfills that craving for me because I used to make smoothies out of frozen strawberries, protein powder and water..
I was going to suggest this! It's not the same, but it is pretty close! And it's 0 calories, so that is the best part. You can feel like you are indulging without having to feel the least bit guilty. It's a win-win!.
Crystal Light has a delicious Sunrise Orange drink. I use it when I drink Rum, too. Also theres a few different flavors that might help with your fruit cravings. Strawberry was pretty good, too..
Also, Gigi, I recently tried the orange blended drink (ordered 1 packet just in case!), and really liked it. I will be ordering more next time around..

Goofydude - I never thought of making 'lettuce chips'! I need to become a more creative cook!.
Laura - yeah for onderland!! You are soooo close.
Zibby - I will check out the orange drink with my next order, I haven't tried any of the drinks yet..
I was at a farmers market this weekend and one of the stands offered big, juicy strawberries - it was so hard to say no to a free sample!.
