Waffles. Choc chip waffles. They made me their b***h. Had some bad financial news today. Normally that would have sent me into depression and into an emotional eating binge. I was proud that I took it in stride and stayed on program all day.
There must have been some emotional eating remnants there that I haven't lost totally yet. Dusting myself off and picking myself back up. Now..
Good for you! Waffles are the devil's food when combined with chocolate. I just made a soft bake chocolate chip cookie into a shake and it's super yum!.
I'm sorry about your bad news. Stress is a killer. Maybe you could make a list of some things you could do when stressed rather than turning to food? I need to make that list, too!.
How did you make the soft bake chocolate chip cookie into a shake? I baked the cookie but did not like it. I don't want to waste my products. Thanks in advance..
Great job getting back on track..I know I have had to pick myself up once or twice so far but it seems I usually learn a little everytime I do. Hope you can take something positive from it...
Sounds to me like you're learning about yourself on this journey, which is EXACTLY what you should be doing. Some of those lessons are tough, but from my experience, they are the ones you don't forget..
Glad to hear you've picked yourself up and now you'll be even better prepared when bad days come, which they do whether we're prepared or not..
Goofy, you are SO CLOSE TO GOAL! It is right around the corner. Consider this one-time-only miss practice for transition - and what NOT to do! It's great that you identified what caused it (so sorry for your bad financial news) and so now you'll be even more aware of it. And great job on not binging - heck - that couldn't been waffles AND ice cream AND drive-thru AND AND AND.... it wasn't! Getting thru the whole day and then succumbing to a coupla waffles is NOT a binge. You go, Goof!.
JK - just think of what you USED to do. Ice cream, pizza, POP TARTS! But you realized it almost immediately and woke up today right back on plan. None of us are perfect but you're learning so much more about yourself. That's the good part!.
Sorry about the financial news - that's the pits..
Wait, I am confused. Did you have Medifast Waffles or real waffles?.
I bought a Babycakes waffle stick machine ($20 at Kohls after sale, coupon, etc). I package of Medifast Choc Chip pancakes males EXACTLY 5 waffle sticks in this machine. Really yummy. I have pics but not on this computer, so I will post them later..
Gggoodgggirl that looks soooo awesome!!! Thanks for sharing it!.
Goofydude I am so sorry for the bad news that bites! But I LOVE that when you binged it was on Medifast food!! I hope that if/when it happens to me I am as good as you are! Good job jumping right back on the wagon! Give yourself a hug!.
JK - if you're gonna binge I think Medifast choc chip pancakes/waffles are the way to go. Those babies are awesome! Sorry about your bad news. Hope everything looks better for you today..
Gggoodgggirl .... I'm perplexed, fascinated by all your cooking techniques. (Making pancakes in a paper plate .... and the other poster who makes cookies into drinks?!?!). I love the way it all looks and sounds, but I'm confused and excited all at once. I only use things as per instructions on the packet. How boring am I?!?! Now, I will have to try it all!.
Goofydude ... I concur with all the other posts. You did an amazing job in the face of adversity. You're getting good practice in ... since once you're at your goal weight, and your losing phase stops, temptation will be your constant companion. And you have to get into the habit of resisting it, just as you did here - or you will slide.
you did GREAT in your first of many battles to come. Emotional eating - NIL / Goofydude - 1 BRILL-EE-YINT!!!.
Suzanne - trust me, everything I do is SUPER easy and with the intent of less effort. I hate to cook or do anything complicated! I started using the paper bowls because I can just throw them out when I am done. Turns out, I preferred how they came out.
Sending hugs.bad financial news sucks! Hope all ends well..

In learning how to deal with the emotional triggers in life. I now drink coffee with flavored SF syrup when real stress hits.it's my new "calming" source.go figure. Fortunately, the caffeine doesn't keep me awake at night regardless of when I drink it. Not the best solution but for me it's better than overeating and the SF syrup feels like a treat..
I'm an emotional eater and I have found that some form of exercise helps. It is a release. If I don't have time to exercise in the morning, work will sometimes really stress me out and I find myself thinking more and more about food. I found that regular exercise was key in controlling this, but for you, it might be any activity that provides a release....that sounds a little dirty, but I hope you know what I mean. I was not able to exercise much this week and the desire to stress eat grew more and more intense. I think it is something that we will always have to work at..
I am happy to have all of you on the boards. I'm glad that you are dealing with a negative situation in a positive way - great progress. I hope that the situation will get better {{hugs}}..
This is not completely OP, but I LOVE this! 3/4 cup cold water + soft bake mix + 1 wedge LC Light cream cheese, blend in Magic Bullet for 30 sec. Add 3/4 cup crushed ice, blend for 30 more sec. = WONDERFULNESS! Sometimes I'm really bad and instead of the 3/4 cup water I do 3/4 cup of a water and vanilla unsweetened almond milk mix. You can do this OP without the cheese and almond milk and it's still yummy..
