For me it's about the journey. I have recently been having issues where my brain still thinks I am fat. So I needed a tool to "show" myself what I have accomplished. I used milestones in my losses..
First 10 pounds.
Onederland.
50 pounds.
Fitting into a large after 10 years.
My first 5 K.
I am still working on a few but those are the ones that stick out the most for me. And the ones that I force my brain to acknowledge as a job well done and for my "fat goggles" to clear..
Mine have all been Scale Related goals, but this last one? Goal for me is fitting into a size 32" waist. I'm hoping it's feasible and I don't look Manorexic if I do get down that low!.
My "fat goggles" went away all of a sudden about 1 month ago. I started seeing myself as "thin". It's a nice feeling..
Hey Christina, I often feel that way when I post too. I rarely get very many replies. I haven't been really good about setting milestones. I sort of acknowledge them as they come. Hitting wonderland, hitting the halfway mark, fitting into a single digit sized piece of clothing. I still and do struggle with fat brain. I hope to over come that soon..
Since I've been at goal since 4-8-12, I guess my goals are a little different now. I have goals to be *at my goal weight* for future events. My most recent goal was to have this weight recorded in my medical record at my last doctor's appointment. I was close, but with clothing and shoes I was 3 lbs. above my goal. I subtracted the 3 lbs.
I have the "normal" 5%, 10%, etc. But I think about those NSV's....the cute black boots that have been in my closet over a year because my calves are too big to fit in them, fit into a seat on a ride at Disney World with my kids, and (a biggie) get our family Christmas pictures with me in them! Normally, it would be just the kiddos because I hate the way I look in pictures...but this year...I'm in!!.
I blogged about the fat goggles thing today. I'm just not seeing the weight coming off me even though I know it is..
A big milestone was when I lost enough weight in my rear end that the seat belt connector didn't painfully jab into my hip..
I have had a lot of clothes related milestones lately. Today I wore a pair of jeans that I don't think I ever wore before. I'm not even sure where they came from but it felt awesome to put them on..
I also bought a size 4 shirt from Ann Taylor today. That was a huge Milestone for me. I even did a happy dance in the dressing room. I don't think I have ever had a size 4 anything in my life..
The size 6 dress I have hanging in the closet will be the next milestone. The hips aren't quite where the top half is yet. lol.

One I have already accomplished is: getting rid of my size 24's.
Here are the rest:.
Getting below 200 (hope this happens before my 45 birthday next month).
Lose 50 lbs by Christmas.
Wearing a swimsuit (any swimsuit) next summer.
Finally, feeling my hip bones again!.
I bet the boards are a little slow since everyone is out celebrating TGIF!!!.
Great Question!.
