I'm back for round 2 with Medifast. I tried it several months ago and stopped using the system after about a week and 3 days. Originally, I tried to hide the fact that I was using this sort of thing to lose the weight. Honestly, I was embarrassed. That was the wrong thing to do. Instead of focusing on the plan, I was worried about trying to be sneaky and making up excuses for social events when food was involved..

This time around, I've got support. My wife is joining me and we have coaches now. We'll be starting as soon as the product arrives so we're anxious to give it all we've got..

Even when I was off of this lifestyle, I came here to read your reviews and testimonials and was still inspired. I hope to write my own success story soon and inspire someone else!.

    Welcome back!.

I have been very open with anyone who has asked me how I've lost my weight. I have found universal support. I hope you find the same thing among your family, friends and co-workers..

    Good luck!.

I myself was quite embarrassed at first. But once I lost a significant amount of weight, I stopped caring completely what other people thought. As far as easy, quick, healthy weight loss solutions goes Medifast seems to take the cake, at least for me. Welcome back. Any support or help you need you'll find here..

    Welcome back!.

It's more embarrassing to do nothing and be the fat guy than to ask for peoples support while you make the transformation..

Your true friends will be right there for you..

I didn't tell anyone except my immediate family I was on Medifast at first. Not because I was embarrassed but because I wanted to see how it went for a while first. I've been an on again off again member of WW for over 25 years. The first time I joined, I lost 60 pounds and looked great! Git too confidant and gained it all back plus much more. That began the cycle of joining, losing, quiting, gaining over and over and over again. The last few times I joined, I actually walked in there feeling defeated before I even started. So when I decided to do MF, I didn't want to tell anyone in case it didn't work or I couldn't do it..

Then it became my "secret" which I enjoyed. I knew that as time went on and I began to lose and it began to work for me, that my life was changing. No one on the outside knew what was going on in the inside and I liked it! Before long, people started to notice "Have you done something different with your hair?" "Your glowing" "Is that a new shirt?" then it turned to "Wow! Have you been losing weight?" I then began to tell people what I was doing when they asked..

When I lost 50 pounds and was half way to goal, I told EVERYONE on my Facebook page! I posted my profile picture with the celebrate 50 balloon and I broadcasted it to all who could see! I am such a strong advocate of this program I want to shout it off the roof tops!.

People notice the difference not only in my size, but they notice the confidence and the change of attitude even more!.

So welcome back! Your going to succeed this time and it will be a glorious journey!!.

I applaud your decision to come back and I pray with your wife starting this journey with you, you both will have the kind of success my wife and I had. It makes it so much easier when everyone at the table is eating the same, healthy meal. There's not one person who wants or needs the kinds of foods we're to avoid while on plan. Not having bread, rice, potatoes or corn on the table has really helped focus on the green veggies I am allowed to eat. And, after three weeks, when were given the green light to start exercising, it was nice to spend a little more quality time with my wife. We started slow and now walk 2.5 miles, 3 - 5 times a week.

How we need to not let ourselves fall back into those bad habits that got us fat in the first place. How we want to be healthy enough to enjoy our grandchildren, when we finally get them..

And, like many posters here, when anyone asks me how I did it, I hand them one of the meals and start evangelizing. This plan works. It worked for me and my wife. And I consider myself a worse case scenario guy...there were only 2 veggies on the acceptable list, other than iceberg lettuce, that I would eat. That list has trebled and I now love my field greens salads...and I have green beans at every meal. We eat a lot of creatively prepared fish, some chicken, and a little beef.

Life is so much better now and I walk into rooms and sometimes want to put my arm around someone I see who needs this program and tell them, "I know how you're feeling...and I know something that will help...".

Good luck and keep us posted! We love hearing all the stories about our fellow loosers!.

My job involves going to numerous firefighter conventions/trade shows. It may surprise some of you to find out that the obesity rate in the fire service is actually higher than in the general public. I have joked with friends that I wish I had two business cards - one for my job and one for Medifast. There are so many obese firefighters - technically I still am one - that could use this program. My openness in regards to this program has resulted in four members of my department starting the program as well as two guys I work with. I find that very rewarding and it more than offsets the occasional - and I mean very occasional - negative comment. It's like being an evangelist for the church of Medifast!.

Also, I walked in to my house last night to find a pile of Medifast products I had not ordered. A patient at the medical practice where my wife works had given it to her. My wife is now going to give it a shot. She probably needs to lose only 40-50 pounds. I will let you know how it works out..

I didn't broadcast the fact that I started Medifast mainly because I wasn't sure it was going to work. One of my coworkers noticed after about a week and a half and the word got around but everyone was supportive..except my boss who likes to send me out to buy donuts but that's really just good natured abuse. Can't explain it..kinda the same thing I was used to in the military..that kind of thing meant they liked you, otherwise they just ignored you. *shrug*.

Now I get lots of comments about my weight from customers that haven't been in for a while and it's impossible to hide it from anyone who knew me a year ago. But I also am proud of the loss and I also tout the benefits of the program. The biggest people we're hiding it from now are our respective families back in Illinois. I had to call my mother last christmas and explain to her why she wasn't going to get a picture of my wife and me like she wanted; let me say that was a hard phone call to make. So this year she's going to get a picture of us and I'll have to custom make a frame to sweeten the deal. I think she'll be thrilled..

I know that my mental body image has changed since I see all these large people around now that I didn't used to think twice about. But it sure is nice to go to a restaurant and not have to mentally size the booth to see if I can fit in it!.

Back for round 2 myself. First time I lost 70lbs back in 2007. As the old story goes I gained it all back over the last 5 years. The last 20lbs I gained recently due to job loss. I got a new job last week and thought this was a good time to start lots of things over not just a new job. I just finished day 2 and it's all coming back to me slowly. Portions, frequency and the hunger!.

I don't remember it being this hard last time. If I remember correctly it will start to get better after a couple more days..

One of my main concerns is fatigue. I play ice hockey at least once a week, sometimes twice. I'm thinking of doing a 4 + 2 on game days. Does anyone here play sports and can shed some light on what you do?.

On day four and can tell a huge difference from the first time around. I think having a coach and being more open about being on this diet has really helped. I'm starting to find out what meals I like and dislike. The bars are life savers for me at work since I'm going non stop all day. The soft bake cookie was a great way to finish off the day too..

There's no reason to be embarassed when you start a weight loss plan. You will find that it is the people around you that will be become embarassed in the face your success, because they need to follow in your footsteps but can't make the leap..
