What to eat for Medifast lunch?

    Hi All-.

    I am sure these questions have been asked and answered a million times, so I will apologize in advance..

    Only received 7 soups, what other Medifast product can I have for lunch?.

    Does the hunger lesson? right now I am starved. I am only taking in 750-850 most in calories....

    Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreicates.

    Did you receive any other Medifast meals? You can have any 5 medifast meals you want at any time spacing them out 2-3 hours..

    All of the Medifast products have the same "nutritional footprint", which means there is no specific time that you have to eat any certain product. Once you get into fat burning, hunger will greatly diminish, so hang in there!.

    I like the parm puffs at lunch or in the afternoon. I like having something that is not sweet at those times. I also make a bagel or flat bread out of the tomato soup. But usually I just have soup for lunch. I put it in a thermos and it is perfect by the time lunch rolls around. I like the chicken and wild rice and the chicken noodle. My DH prefers the Beef Stew..

    I like to split up my L&G meal... I have some of it for lunch and some for dinner. I think this helps with the hunger especially when first starting out..

    Doing it this way, you can eat 7 meals a day, or enjoy a salad with your soup. You can also add some meat and veggies to your soup to make it more filling. Just remember to subtract it from your L&G. My first couple of days, I always added a few pickle spears or some celery sticks to my lunch bags, just to have something extra..

    Now, for lunch I usually have pancakes or a bar. The good thing about Medifast is that you can eat anything at anytime..

    Do you have a food scale? Weighing your lean and green AFTER cooking is so important to ensure you are getting the right amounts of food and not shorting yourself. Not eating the full lean and green will definitely contribute to your hunger especially in the first week or two. There is a chart somewhere around here that has gram weights of all the veggies we can have. Also Egg Beaters is a good lean and green because we get soooo much of it so you can split it up really easy to eat more often. What did you order besides soups? It will get better don't worry!.

    You can eat ANY meal at lunch, because you can eat any of the meals at any time of the day..

    If you are only taking in 750-850, you are making the same mistake I did in my early weeks it's not enough, and will actually slow down your weight loss slightly. Aim for no less than 825 and no more than 900, unless your doctor tells you to go higher. For sure they won't tell you to go lower!!!.

    If you are having a hard time choking down the shakes, you can make shake cakes out of them. Put the mix of the shake in a tall mug, and add 1/8 tsp of baking powder, about 1.5 tablespoons of egg substitute (Eggbeaters or something similar), about 2.5 tablespoons of water, and mix well until you have a smooth batter. Pop in the microwave for about a minute. You can eat it straight out of the mug or put it on a plate. I like adding a teaspoon or two of Walden Farms no calorie chocolate syrup or no calorie fruit spread, but that's up to you. Hmmmm think I'll go fix one now!.

    If you are hungry, seafood and chicken breast will be your friend. I had baked Red Snapper the other night and it ended up being 2.5 filets! Oh yea, and make sure you have a good digital scale..

    My first kit came with two soups, 7 chicken noodle and 7 chicken wild rice. Besides the fact that they don't taste that great, I don't find the soups satisfy my hunger because they are mostly liquid. I am leaning more towards the bars, shakes and brownies. I am a newbie too, 1 week, and I also have to experiment with more varieties when I order my next kit..

    I also found that going from one Medifast meal to the other, there is just enough time usually before a real bad hunger sets in. The Medifast meals total about 500 calaries a day and the reast has to be made up in the lean and green meal. To me, the lean and green meal is the main resting point from any hunger. Besides a sensible portion of meat or fish, you can load up on the greens at this point. Greens are so low in calaries that you can eat all you want. I often sautee a can of spinach or french cut string beens with a little eagg and cheese and that fills me up. I been averaging about 1200 calories a day..

    Joe1958 this is not the 5&1 plan that you are describing. You cannot eat all the greens you want on the 5&1 you can have 3 servings/day which are typically 1/2 cup/serving with lettuce being 1 cup/serving and your calories should be under 1000 and carbs under 100. If you are trying to follow the 5&1 plan you may want to check out the quick start guide up at the top tabs in success tools > eat right. I am not judging your approach, I just want to let other newbies know that this is not how the 5&1 works..

    ONE MORE QUESTION,..I workout everyday, it's my nature and I require it, do you think I should do the 4& 2 or no?.
