Taking carbs completely out of your diet is not the healthiest way to do things. But changing your carbs is. Eating no refinded carbs is a better way to do things. Eat Brown Rice, Quinoa (pronounced Keen-wa), sweet potatoes..those are slowly digested carbs that keep you full longer and still gives you great nutrition that you need from that part of your diet.

    • img

      Southernbelle20112582 days ago

Also, make a list of all your processed carbs you eat on a weekly basis. Drop one per week and replace it with one of the carbs mschuldt suggested. If you drop them cold turkey it will be harder to stick to a diet without them for the long run.

did you lose any weight with noticing what you eat?

    • img

      BoosMommy2591 days ago

Being truly aware of what we eat is the key to changing those habits!!

    • img

      30lbsUnder2591 days ago

Well everyweek on average i lose about 1 1/5 lbs. And ive been writing my foods down for 1 1/2 weeks. So noticing what im eating and making slight or major changes for my second time around i should lose some more weight. Ill say maybe 2-3lbs. Because ive noticed i eat alot of breads...or carbs in general. And yea your right BoosMom!

I like the Couch to 5k app on my phone -- I just jog around in my living room rather than going outside. It amuses the dogs, which I prefer over amusing the neighbors. :)

Pilates! There's an app for it, it gets you really toned, and according to slimkicker, it burns 177 calories per hour.

Only when I eat a lot of fruit. That usually takes me over on sugars. On the carbs I'm not so sure.

    • img

      Setareh2605 days ago

same! it its not both its either one or the other. . does anyone have any advice on how to keep sugar and carb intake in check?

    • img

      ZomboidHell2605 days ago

all sugars are carbs but not all carbs are sugars...if you are going over on NATURAL sugar not added sugar it's not AS bad as it looks, natural sugars take longer to break down than added sugars , still want to keep an eye on it...if you get more protein you will feel fuller longer, proteins break down much slower and will help balance out your diet better. I had a very hard time bringing up my protein and lowering my carbs but once i did the weight and pant sizes came off much easier.

    • img

      30lbsUnder2605 days ago

Holy crackers, that opened my eyes alittle bit, I didn't realize that method would help shed some pounds ! Def gonna try that out ,thanks! And also thanks to the rest of you!!!

    • img

      keytosports2605 days ago

It will also help if you really restrict your carbs, especially anything with added sugars, later at night. I think everyone struggles with carbs. Adding more lean protein will help a lot though.

I wouldn't worry about it! They're there as a guideline for how you might want to portion your calories and keep an eye on things. For example, you want at least X grams of fiber but not more than X grams of fat.

Don't worry. I do weight training, too. You won't bulk up. Guys get bulky because they have testosterone. Girls just get great muscle definition without the bulk.

Basically just send a friend request to whomever, and day by day make a log or a post stating if I tracked in on my challenge, I think there are private message options . But then again I'm not 100% sure because I just started using this app today. ):
