I find that running helps. I usually do 100 sit-ups before and after running. I run for a mile and a half a day.

Basically, you cannot choose where your body stores fat. If you want to lose body fat, you have to lose it overall. It is impossible to work one specific area for fat loss, only for muscle increase. Tracking your food properly to ensure that calories out are greater than calories in is a great start! Increase veggies/fruits, decrease processed foods, choose brown/whole grains over white, cut back on processed sugar as much as possible. Do this consistently and you will notice a difference.

No matter how bad you feel today never let that bring down the positive potential for tomorrow. Just thought I'd tell you that just in case!(:

Keep your sodium low, eat plenty of protien because it will keep you full instead of craving a bunch of carbs, and when you go dress shopping, make sure to eat a meal before. You will get a better fit, and then you don't have to worry about things fitting too tight if you go out to eat before the dance.

Vegetables are great for snacks and to help fill up your plate as well as the tummy. Jillian Michaels says green veggies are free foods eat as much as you want. Of course with your proteins because they will help keep your blood sugar leveled out so you don't have a hunger crash.

Be sure to cut out the little things that we sometimes forget to "count", like a handful of this, or a tiny bite of that. Soda pop, juice, fancy coffees, etc. can add up quick. Don't drink your calories. Cut back on whites: breads, sugars, rice. Choose whole grain varieties instead.

You could do a hummus and veggie sandwhich. Tuna is cheap and good for you, too. :)

I'd stay away from the fruit until you at the point of maintaining your weight. Fruit=Sugar

focus on fitness, not calories! get your heart rate in your target zone (usually between 120-170 beats per minute) for half an hour. the calories will follow :)

      miaz2667 days ago

also if you're just starting to work out, i think it's better not to go *too* hard the first day -- set a goal that's hard but doable so you don't burn yourself out right away!

It depends on what your diet looks like now. I took my first 2 days to just see what my normal intake looked like before I could adjust. I was surprised to find i was high on carbs and sugar and low on protein and fat so I replaced my cereal with egg white omelettes and breakfast burritos. I immediately began to lose weight.

Lots of vegetables. Watch your sugar but make sure you actually get enough calories. While you're getting used to logging them it's ok to go over in the macronutrient categories as long as you strategize on how to adjust it in the future
