Great day for nutrition until the team dinner where I ate 2 large slices of Papa John's pizza. My dinner was a whopping 730 calories!! Ekk! on the bright side I'm still under my calorie intake by 600 and resisted the temptation of desert:)

Well a healthier alternative to PB is Sunbutter; i heard it tastes alike and it's a bit better :) Not that PB is "unhealthy" but you do want to watch how much you consume! It's probably because of eliminating the wheat (great step!) so you just need to get used to it a bit. Just give it some time :)

    • img

      Jodie2753 days ago

Sounds like your body is saying it wants protein and fat. Maybe when you crave peanut butter, think of a different protein/fat option like hummus with extra virgin olive oil drizzled and veggies for dipping.

    • img

      JennH2O2753 days ago

I think I would opt for natural PB over those 2 options. Sunbutter does not taste like PB, I know cause I love PB. It tastes like ground up sunflower seeds, not bad but not peanut butter. And hummus is hummus, not bad either but not even close to PB.

      Green212833 days ago

hehe it is a little all over the place. I'm probably the teen with the biggest sweet tooth ever. I try and aim for no grains unless right before practice, and only one or two pieces of fruit a day and getting a good balance of protein in. Still searching for a yummy protein power though (no sucess there lol). I'm still on my way to that elusive swimmer's body, and I hoping by the time I have earned that bikini it will look fitting:)

Difficult. Reduce temptation, eat light veggies before, drink water. Then only small portions, and compliment the cook.

    • img

      xprawn2833 days ago

I'm going to offer you a completely different tactic - eat mostly protein beforehand, it will keep you fuller for longer. If you want to eat while you're there, make the bulk of your plate full of protein and use carbs and fats for flavour! If you go overboard, never mind - your calories in/out doesn't matter so much over the course of a day, I usually monitor mine over the space of the week instead :) And have a great time!

I have the same problem. I think it has to do with processed food since sugar is often added to the formulas. Even in things like bread and pre-made sauces. I would check labels to see if there is a mention of sugar, or high fructose corn syrup and try to avoid said ingredients. Good luck!

    • img

      kac0382868 days ago

Keep eating fruit, but start looking at the labels of the things you buy. It's kind of ridiculous how much stuff has unnecessary sugar added to it!

    • img

      Auslen2868 days ago

My Niece is a personal trainer. I asked her about it because I'm having the same problem. She says she only counts added sugar as in processed foods and such. Fruit and milk and plain yogurt and such she doesn't count the sugar in that. Keep each all the fruit you want

    • img

      onceuponanight2868 days ago

Yeah I am having the same problem - 1 apple takes up 22 out of the 24g of sugar!! Keep eating 1 fruit a day and as Auslen said, just ignore sugars from fruits and other raw foods. Good luck! x

    • img

      smileee22868 days ago

Also, you could try eating fruits lower in natural sugars, like berries....strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, etc :)

    • img

      GrizzledAtoms2868 days ago

I enter my fruits and berries at the very end of the day. That way, I can keep a handle on other sugars I'm eating during the day.

There probably are noticeable results, you just don't notice 'em.

    • img

      thinlizzy2873 days ago

I agree! I've lost about 15 and boy can I tell! Especially in inches......

    • img

      womanoflesssubstance2873 days ago

I think that there is some sort of tipping point. I can lose pounds and pounds and no one notices. But then lose one pound more and it becomes really obvious. It's seems, tediously, a matter of keeping on going on faith until that tipping point happens.

    • img

      applebear2873 days ago

I've done that at a height of 5'4'', and my tipping point is 120lbs. Try noting down inches rather than weight.

    • img

      GrizzledAtoms2873 days ago

Keep in mind that you're looking at yourself every day so it's difficult for you to notice changes in yourself until they become obvious. Since I'm a guy it might be a bit different but it took me 6 months to notice a change. If you're looking for OTHERS to notice keep in mind that... guys are daft in this area, your friends may be hesitant until it's obvious, those that don't secretly want you to lose won't say anything...

Good for you for getting back on track. It was a tough weekend, not only lots of candy and chocolate everywhere, but probably lots of visiting with family & friends too. Easter comes but once a year, and as several people have posted here, there's no big candy holidays until Halloween!! So perhaps we're safe for a while!
