Level 38! I relaxed a little foodwise over the holidays (there were cookies everywhere), but I stayed with my exercise program. SK kept my Challenges and exercise program at the top of the to-do list.

Level 33! Been on SK since mid-April. The key: running/biking regularly, lifting occasionally, working my fitness Challenges every day/week. And watching my calories. (But eating what I want/like -- up to a point.)

Level 26! Colder weather. Less daylight. Annual SAD carb cravings have started. So... I'm trying to stay focused. Trying to not eat badly/more. Trying to run or bike five days a week. Trying to do my other daily exercise. Trying to stick with my Challenges. Fall is a tough test. But I know I can do it.

Level 22! Beer reward! I'm down 34 lbs. since January, and 25 lbs. since I joined SK in mid-April. It turns out eating the right portions and exercising regularly works better than any fad diet. And SK, with its food and exercise tracking (and its game-like approach), has been the key.

I figured out that the combined miles I've run/biked this summer would take me from my house (near Chicago) to Toronto, Pittsburgh, Nashville or Kansas City. By the end of November, I should "get to" Baltimore/Washington DC, Atlanta or Tulsa!

Level 21! And 33 lbs. down since mid-January! The key has been logging my food, learning portions and watching my daily calories. But 30 mins. of running or biking 5 days a week helped too.

Level 20! And in two days, I'll complete five months on SK! I want to hit my big goal (39 lbs. lost) before I get to six months. Just 9 lbs. to go. Got to stay focused on managing my food/calories. Got to keep plugging away at it.

Level 19! Just 9 lbs. away from my goal, and 30 lbs. down since mid-January. SK has been the key -- it gives me the tools to help me eat right (not too much) and it lets me set goals I can work toward (and achieve).

Whew! Level 17! Made it even though I've got a hip/thigh injury (stupidly aggravated by over-training), and had to stop running and riding my bike for the last week. I watched my diet, and didn't gain any weight! And added weightlifting.

Today, for the first time in 8 years, my weight started with a 1 and a 7! I'm down 25 lbs. in 14 weeks. For the first time I've lost weight not by starving myself or by following a fad diet. I eat what I normally eat (including cookies), but in the correct portions (and no more). And I exercise every day. SK gives me the ability keep track and stay on track.

This morning I ran a mile in 8m50s! Haven't been in the 8s in a long time. Being 25 lbs. lighter really helps.

It turns out that plugging away at exercise pays off. Who knew? Suddenly I'm feeling better/OK while running -- and not like I'm about to drop dead. And I've been able to cut a minute off my first mile time in the last two weeks!

Level 13! Lowered personal best for a mileby 45 seconds in last week. Simply plugging away at running -- or any kind of exercise -- pays off. It turns out, the "secret" is working at it day after day. Who knew?

I've knocked more than 30 seconds off my mile time in the last 10 days! It's funny how achievements just "happen" when you plug away at exercise.

Changing my running goal to minutes instead of miles has been an "invisible" way to run longer and farther. Fastest first mile in many years today. Second mile still needs work, but it's faster too. Third mile is still a far away dream.

Level 10, and already 60% of the way to Level 11. It really pays to dial up the exercise and go longer.

Level 9! And changed my run goal from 2 miles to 30 minutes -- an invisible way to increase my distance. Also this morning I ran my fastest first mile in years. (If only the second and third miles were as fast!)

Same though, Level 26!? That's a lot of prizes! SAD is really tough. Make sure to get outside for at least 20 minutes a day, even if the weather is crappy. Also, I take a vitamin d supplement, just as a backup. All of the things you are doing will keep you feeling good, but please take care of yourself.
