    Having second thoughts as to whether I should continue on Atkins... I'm just not a meat person and I'm really having some serious 'cereal-withdrawal' symptoms now. Gosh >.<

    Almost the end of my first day of Atkins diet. Having a tough time keeping my carb cravings at bay.. but oh well, tough times dont last, a positive mindset does! Go ME!

    Fell off the wagon these few days and Im determined to get back on track again from tomorrow onwards. Just another 10 more kgs to go!!!

    @Valentina Yes, protiens and salads and 1 cup of veggies. Get the book Dr. Atkins' new Diet Revolution the Low Carb Approach by Robert C. Atkins, M.D. has all the information you need also check at the library you might be able to get the book there. Also check out Atkins.com and Jimmy Moore at LLVLC. Theres 5 of us that started the diet and we all have lost wieght and inches. We give each other ideals on recieps and encourage each other that we can do this.

      I eed to lose 50lbs. My AC1 went from 6.4 to 5.5. My doctor took me of glimperine. Iam still on 2000mg. melformin. My goal is to be taking off them in 3 months.

    @Valentina I've been do the Atkins diet going on my 8th. week. Lost 24.4 lbs 2inches in bust, 4 in waist, 5 in hips, 2in upper arms, 2 in thighs inches.Going to the doctor and have bloodwork and I am type 2 diebetic on meds, hope to get off.

      @jud wow! very impressive! May I know whats your targeted weight loss? i heard that if you dont have much to lose you will tend to lose it slower over a longer period of time. I have about 10kgs to lose

      You don't really have to eat meat. There are lots of other choices - dairy, nuts, lots of veggies are pretty high in protein like mushrooms - of course tofu, and any protein you do like such as seafood or lighter meats like chicken. Carb withdrawal is a given on just about any effective diet, unfortunately. It will get to the point where you wondered how ever you could have eaten so much of it. But yes, I really miss cereal. Just remember it's only temporary!

      Hi Andrea, yes the carb cavings are killing me! May I know what diet are you currently on now? What's your target weight and how many kgs are you aiming to lose? I need to lose 10kgs!!

      You don't need to do induction for 2 weeks - just until your body flips over and starts burning fat. You'll know because you'll start feeling better - induction is rough so don't prolong it any longer than necessary
