It's totally cheating if I click on challenges that I know I don't have a problem with, right? Like, I can't accept the challenge of "Not drinking soda for a week" if I already don't drink soda. Loopholes!

Achieved! 100 push-ups (at my work desk) before noon. I feel a little sick.

I really want to bust out some push-ups in my office but have a fear someone is going to walk in. What's a good excuse for my being on the floor?

Just listed eating a Morningstar veggie sausage. Then the did-you-know pop up window chimed in suggesting I should "get to know my butcher." Hilarious.

I've just thought about it! But I guess it counts, because we're not drinking soda for a week, anyway...

You could, but you're only cheating yourself. :)

I decided not to join challenges for things I already do, because I'm trying to "level-up" myself. Anything I'm already doing kind of counts as my baseline, so I shouldn't earn any points for it. Just my 2c.

    • img

      doctorgabi2866 days ago

I agree with ectoBiologist, if the goal is just to get points on here without seeing any self improvement then I feel like there wouldn't be any point, would there? I'm only doing the ones that are honestly a 'challenge' to me :-D

      GrizzledAtoms2866 days ago

Agree with all the above. If you need to just create your own challenge ...something you really want to work on. I do ones like getting to bed early, working out with my sons, no sweets for a week, biking to work, etc.

Stay strong you can do it!

::rob schneider voice:: YOU CAN DO IT! Going to bed on an empty stomach helps with weight loss, keep that thought in mind!

      June Bug2900 days ago

Hang in there, you can do it.

If you like tea, brew some. It's both relaxing and complies with the no snack rules.

knock yourself out with a cup of sleepytime tea. or failing that, some nyqil or benadryl. or if you don't have that either, try crouching down on the floor, and hyperventilating for 30 seconds at a time, until you start feeling dizzy, then stand up really quickly and stick your thumb in your mouth - then quickly, powerfully blow on your thumb without letting any air out. that will make you fall over (if you're well-organized, straight onto your bed). those are my suggestions. yeah.

Congrats! I've found that doing pushups at work to break up projects is a great way to fit in exercise.

@sarahrose8403 I just laughed my ass off after looking at your recent status and then your photo. jog/walk/stumbling round; "brains." Yoga/pilates; "brains."

Just say you dropped a pen under the desk and are looking for it!

Oh hell, just tell them the truth! There's nothing shameful in incorporating physical activity throughout your day. Besides, it can increase your productivity--they should take notes from you!

      Julyetta2902 days ago

I told my work that I am getting into fitness.. they see me doing squats and lunges all the time. As long as I am not CONSTANTLY doing it so it looks like I am not working, they dont mind. Just be honest with them! Im sure if you asked, your boss would respect it and allow it.

    • img

      regazzadilupo2902 days ago

I'd say just be honest! Nothing wrong with some light exercise. Then again, I don't care if my co worker's think I'm weird, anyway.

    • img

      Vegasaurus2902 days ago

You thought you heard hoofbeats? Nah, I agree with the above two... just tell them you were doing pushups! All it'll do is make you look like a badass ^.^

    • img

      lynnbaum2902 days ago

Tell them it helps you brainstorm. Just wait for the kickboxing when you regroup. I have to think of what all those other management words are.

In countries like China everyone starts off with exercise at work. That is something I think America should get into. Exercise would be easier if I got paid to do it.

      jamesewh2902 days ago

Since 8:30 to now, I've managed to squeeze out 75 push-ups. And only once did I spring up and look around my desk chair to act like I had dropped a pencil.

are there still places where you can go to an actual butcher and get to know them, instead of just the meat area at the back of the kroger's?

    • img

      kaiazoo2902 days ago

i don't know, but a veggie butcher is kind of like an "Anti-Missile Missile" or an "honest liar" - those walking paradoxes are hard to shake hands with.
