Success! I needed to lose 8 lbs to be able to fit into my wedding dress, and today it zipped up! Now I just need to maintain for the next four weeks...

13" of snow fell here in the past 24h... and all I can think is that I really hope Zumba class won't be cancelled tonight (don't worry I will be taking the bus/walking)

Today was my first day back at Willpower and Grace class. Man, taking a month off really messed me up! I'm looking forward to next week when I know I'll be stronger.

Okay, after a month-long break, I'm back! Goal 1: Survive the school year. Goal 2: Maintain weight for my June wedding. Goal 3: Get more sleep! I love to exercise but I've decided I won't do it if I didn't sleep more than 6h the night before - if I don't have time to sleep I certainly don't have time for the gym :/

After a month-long weight-loss plateau, I started lifting weights 3 times a week (in addition to my usual cardio).. and my weight has started to go down again, hooray!

Just got back from back-to-back vacations which included my boyfriend - now fiancé - proposing! Now that I am home it's time to get back on track, starting with a long game of catch in the deep end of the pool tomorrow (it's amazing how much exercise that is!)

Today was my first run with my new pair of Vibrams, they were so fun I wanted to go further but I followed the advice I've gotten from many people to start out with short runs :)

the 100 planks in 1 week challenge is really HARD, I feel like it should be worth more than 500 points.. but I guess the real reward is how much stronger my abs are getting!

I was planning on going to the pool this morning before it got hot outside but overslept until 6:30 (pool closes at 7:45, I would have been able to swim for 20 minutes tops)... I could have gone back to bed but I decided to run a 5k instead. It was perfect weather for running this morning :)

Yesterday was a bit of a miss - I went for a run in the middle of the day and was so exhausted that I was more concerned with replenishing my energy than watching what I ate. Note to self: you can't run outside in the middle of the day when it's so hot. Today is a swimming day, so it should be much better.

Sipping homemade limoncello as a reward for going from level 5 to 7 so quickly (and to cheer me a little as I stay up late working on a paper). If I can work hard tonight I should have time for zumba tomorrow!

The nice thing about cutting back on sugar is that it takes less sugar to make things taste sweet (and really sugary things are starting to be overwhelming so I don't want them anymore). The only problem is that it's sometimes hard to find less sweet stuff if I don't make it myself

mmm birthday cake. I ate a small slice slowly and was totally satisfied. I don't feel guilty about it - I've been short on calories for a few days and been watching my sugar, and I'm actually pretty excited to eat kale salad tomorrow!

Same here! I typically cut off soda entirely, and then when I drink it again sometime later it tastes just awful!

    • img

      regazzadilupo2795 days ago

This is a thing I learned working in a kitchen. Once you get used to well crafted desserts, that sicky sweet stuff you get in stores and chains is just over whelming. I feel much better about a small serving of a thing with real ingredients, even IF chocolate and sugar are in that dessert, knowing that it's not over loaded and that there aren't artificial things floating around in it.
