My favorite place to find new, vegan recipes is the database at Dr. McDougall's site - http://www.drmcdougall.com/newsletter/recipeindex.html

You can sort of browse down the list and eyeball any that sound good to you, then click on the recipe and see how many ingredients it calls for, are they obscure things or easy to obtain - stuff like that - to determine how expensive it might be to prepare. I've never found anything on his site that was outrageously expensive, and I'm a single mom with 2 daughters, so my budget is tight, too.

Another thing I can say is, for me, eating simply has been one of the best things about going vegan. I honestly only make full-on recipes every once in a while. I usually just eat some type of fruit for breakfast, soup or a salad for lunch, and maybe a baked potato topped with some salsa, or veggie chili, or some rice and beans for supper.

    I hope this helps! :)

I find all kinds of great vegan recipes on Pinterest. Are you a member yet? I think you can search the site anyway. Tonight I made a creamy butter bean sauce over fettucini. It is good if you like butter beans! And if you are craving something creamy without the cream. You can search for that recipe on Pinterest.

Oh, there's plenty of sites out there. Most I know are in German. Two of the English ones I can think of are:
    http://www.veganmeals.com/
    and
    http://theveganzombie.com/

    Hope that helps! Enjoy! :-)

I like veganyumyum.com, ohsheglows.com, and http://budgetbytes.blogspot.com is a website specifically intended to have inexpensive recipes with a decent vegan/vegetarian section.

errrika, MrsLariss is right: Pinterest is a great source for vegan recipes. Also, one of my favorites is the Post Punk Kitchen: http://www.theppk.com/ . The blog owner, Isa Chandra Moskowitz, has also written a number of books, some of them with a partner (Terry Hope Romero). You can definitely get them from the library, so I encourage you to look for them.
