    Where are my outdoor runners? Do you have a treadmill for the rainy season? Do you run in the rain? Do you take a break till there is sunshine? I never gave it much thought before because it doesn't rain much here.

    Finished week 1 of c25k. Not going to lie, never imagined even starting! I always made excuses of "when I get a treadmill or gym membership, I'll shop around.." Screw it. Going outside not only has me moving, but even saves me money!

    Soooo I fell off the wagon hard and pretty much undid a lot of progress. Still, what matters now is that I'm back and ready to attack! W1D2 of C25K tomorrow morning!!

    Fell while running down the mountain yesterday. The whole side of my body is either cut, scraped, or bruised....Luckily the location forced me to walk it off! I'll be back at it in a couple of days!

      Whether it's running or biking, I don't let the rain stop me. I find it refreshing and different... who cares if your clothes get wet!

      Not bad! did w2d2 yesterday and it was MUCH easier to me than w2d1. I'm not sure if I'll be able to handle w3d1 but I guess I won't know for sure until I try it on Monday. I haven't been doing this as long as you have but so far the biggest thing that helped me is not to eat before I run ( I go in the morning) because doing so just results in a side-ache/ tougher run. Whatever our pace may be, we can do this! :)

      Yes we can. Are you going by distance or time? I also go before eating. Usually a cup of coffee and I'm out the door in the morning. The main thing that gets me is the heat, another reason I like the morning.

      Ditto on the coffee, love it! I go run at the beach so the sooner the better as far as heat goes. I'm going for time but I'm pretty much tracking everything (using a couple of different apps). I figure I should work on being able to run for 30 mins without stopping and then work on being faster to cover more distance. Which way are you doing it?

      I go with time. I don't have a dependable way to track distance. So far my personal bests are 14:30 mile and I can only run about 1/4 mile without killing myself. I need to find a cheap 5k, I do better when I have a little competition. I use http://runningintoshape.com/2012/05/08/creating-smart-goals/ training downloads to help keep my timing.

      That site is pretty cool with the music. I use the c25k free app for my time cues. I'm the same way with competition. Last week I got the runtastic app and have that going in the background. It saves all your pace/distance/map/speed/whatever/elevation stats online. I like getting home and seeing if I beat myself from a previous run. Maybe that one would work for you if you have a smartphone/itouch.

      You'll be fine. That site I use says to jog the 3 minutes. Usually I can make it through the first one but have to walk part of the second. If I walk a little I so some more jogging at the end of the recovery walk before cooling down.

      We have a pay as you go plan on older phones. We are cheap. Until we have to get new phones we only have to pay $10 a month to keep them active. :) Great for an emergency and our wallets. And we never receive texts during dinner.

      Every other week they fall on MWF. I run on odd days of the month. And it depends on my work schedule - I work at a clothing store. My goal for the year is to get in 371 miles and I was a little behind so I made a goal to get 40 in this month. It really has pushed me and I am getting back on track.

      Agree with both Ekk and SarahV! Also, think of it as challenging yourself even more besides saving money. I think it's harder to run outside then on a treadmill.

      Not long at all. Right now I'm doing the "eat like a caveman for one meal a day for 7 days" challenge, but I do it whenever I'm in a plateau. It's a good trick to push weightloss over the edge imo but not something I'd be able to do long term.

      Don't worry too much about cholesterol unless your doctor tells you you're a high-risk patient for cardiovascular disease. Same with sodium.
