    Why is it that we know exactly what we need to do, but do not do it. Watching layers of fat rolls bounce in the gym mirror, but at least I'm at the gym. Forward, don't look back.

    I love yoga! It can be frustrating because I am so obese that my body gets in the way of itself. Another reason to get back to this. My birthday is Thursday, I'm not getting any younger so I need to take care of this body. I also need to support my best friend and be a better motivator and companion as she works to control her pre-diabetes. Dear Universe, please grant me strength.

    Reassured that many folks here had setbacks the past week, but most importantly are back and refocused. I am feeling the same. I would like to lose 15 pounds by my birthday which happens to be on Thanksgiving.

    Relaxed, perhaps a bit too much, the last two days because of the storm. Back to work and back to focused effort on the food and exercise front.

    Week 3 of the 1200 calories. Hitting the gym more frequently, doing crunches and walking. Something finally kicked in, I'm down another 9 pounds. (Total 17.5). Did my body just figure out what I'm trying to do? Good motivation, but slow and steady wins the race.

    2 weeks in, 8 pounds gone. Yoga class yesterday for the first time in years and have been hitting the gym with some consistency and walking on lunch. Feel great after yoga, need to do it more often. Now off to walk some laps around the building in this beautiful Autumn sunshine. Keep fighting the good fight everyone!

    Frustrated. Will reduced my weigh ins to once a week. I also need to work on my core, tired of feeling uncomfortable in my clothes. It's hard because it takes time and consistency.

    Temptations I have avoided today: 1. Giant cookies 2. Handmade, gourmet chocolate truffles shaped like penguins. 3. Free Gourmet boxed lunch. 4. Nutella and pretzels 5. Hershey's miniatures. I think I should get some slimpoints for that, or a gold star or something!

    The scale has frustrated me today. I wonder if I need to go down to one weigh in a week. I also know that weight is not the only measure of success AND that I have only been at this one week. (it's a marathon, not a sprint) So here is to watching what I eat and walking more.

    I mall-walked my butt around work ( the building is 480' by 180' so it is a nice track) for 25 minutes at Reaggaton speed. (It's all about the beat baby!)

    Dinner was a boca burger on sandwich thin bread with some ketchup, mustard and pickle. Super tasty and about 300 calories. Did really well today, a good start to a good week.

    A shiny new week. Have lost 7.5 pounds since last Monday and my body is adjusting to 1200 calories. Got a 300 meals under 300 calories cookbook from the library. Time for some planning to make it another good week. Keep up the good work everyone!

    Slipped a little yesterday, but back at it today. This weekend will be about me, no work stuff. Restarted the fav food challenge b/c of last nights indiscretion. Total loss since Monday 4.5 pounds. Next week- gym at least 3 days, crunches.

      Happy Birthday early! I am in the same situation as you. I enjoy doing yoga, zumba, pilates and jogging but I feel like my body is getting in the way. I also need to improve my ability to motivate people. Maybe we can be an inspiration to each other.

      Good luck! I had major setbacks this past week... but I did circuit training this morning and I would like to lose 5 pounds by Thanksgiving (of course, more would be awesome too)

      Woo! Good job! Mnemosyne... Do some challenges too & track! Veggies are more points, lean protein more points, etc... Regular unhealthy or generally processed calories are only 1 point for logging. I logged 3cups of veggies & got 60 points. It's a reward for healthy eating & moving!

      That's fantastic news! I've been trying to get myself into doing yoga, I've gotten quite stiff in my years ;) However, managed to dislocate my knee doing a stretch... irony? :p
