    Ran my first 8k today with my best friend!! She came all the way from Canada to join me! LOL It was also her FIRST race ever!! YAY!!!! She totally blew me away by about 10 minutes!! HAHA! But I finished under my goal time and was totally STOKED at the end!!! It was TOUGH. LOTS of STEEP hills. TOTALLY FUN!!!

    been offline all week but keeping track. Started a modified Insanity program today. OH. EM. Gee. it kicked my BUTT and it was just the Fit Test!!!! Running tomorrow :) Cutting WAY back on my internet usage ... wastes too much time that could be spent otherwise but I WILL try to stay on here :) I love all the inspiration and feedback :)

    not a good day foodwise.. had a calzone for lunch and mexican for dinner... hmmm carb craving maybe??? gonna log it in anyway, I know I'll see red all over the levels LOL

    Official time for the Trail Run: 47:10 (discounting the 5mins on the clock already for the 15kers) I placed First in my age group! (only 2 of us LOL) 27 overall! I am thrilled!! Now I need to seriously buckle down, focus on logging my food & exercise and TRAIN. 8k in Sept. 5k in Oct. Trail Run in Nov and my first HALF in January!!!!

    Ran my first Trail Run today... it's a LOT different from a road race, but I think I might be hooked!!! Totally fun!! I think I placed 27 out of 45. Waiting for the official times to be posted!! Ran with my sister for the first time and totally enjoyed it!! Now I need to get back to tracking myself on SK again!

    had a tough week.. dealing with some issues in life.. tried to stay on track with my challenges and barely accomplished that.. going hiking in the morning for some nature time... hit level 12 so that's a plus too :) Hoping things go UP from here.. hate being depressed

    Next week we are registering for our first Half Marathon in January. I'm excited and a bit nervous too! I've been doing steady 3-5 miles daily and have been upping that slowly.... I have grown to love running and actually miss it on my rest days! Trail run in 18 days and then an uphill 5k the weekend after that! Who would have thought!??!?! :D

    I hit Level 11 today. AND ran .. well sort of ran... 5.28 miles .. that's my longest run yet!! Note: when trying new shoes, be sure to snug them up or you WILL get blisters. I did finish and kept my miles under 13 minutes... all in all a good day :) :)

    had an AWESOME cardio workout last night at a local gym.. LOVE it!!! Took a 3 mile walk this morning, we did a LOT of leg work last night, so running was somewhat out of the question... but still got a nice stretch out of the walk. Almost to level 11 and no idea of a reward!?

    Ran my second 5k yesterday! Took almost 2 mins of my PR! My husband shaved around a min off his time. and his friend finished his first! LOVE my Zensah shin sleeves!!! NO pain in my shins, even over the old injury! AND my calves feel GREAT!! Also registered for our first Trail 5k Aug 18! Then and uphill 5k Aug 24! I might be addicted :D :D

    Woohoo!! Just hit Level 9! I don't even have a reward picked yet since we are doing my Level 8 reward next week: Seafood Dinner mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Gotta love the tough challenges and their reward points :D So many changes in my lifestyle over the past few months.. and SK has been there to help me keep track! It's not a HUGE change but lots of little ones here and there... Life is good and getting better every day!

    Had a great hike today with my husband and our dogs :) Beautiful views in Western NC mountains and quality time in the great outdoors :) Early morning run tomorrow and some p90x after work :) I feel great but weight loss has plateaued and I need to kick it up a notch and add in more strength training as well! 5k in 10 days!!!

    Had a great run Wednesday and did my best PR for 3.1 miles. Yesterday was total crap, bad mood, frustrated and ate terribly... today is fresh new start... ran 3.1 miles again, ended up over my race time with a 34:24 time but hey I'm not complaining! 3 months ago I couldn't do a 17min/mile now I'm regularly under 12:30 :D Next 5k in TWO WEEKS! And I just hit Level 8 too!!

    somehow tangled my leg up in my sheets last night and woke up with a tweaked ankle... only did 1.6 miles and walked most of it... bummer as I wanted to attack the hill again today.. but it's wrapped and resting now and will see how tomorrow goes :)

    had a great run with my friend that I haven't seen in a long time.. then we got pedicures together :D I'm about 14 years overdue for one of those! LOL But then I just kept eating far too many carbs.. went over on those big time today and still haven't eaten my calorie allotment.. but it's 10pm so I'm done for the night... my sugar went over too, it was all the yummy fruit salad I had at lunch... Have to get back on track foodwise!

    past two days have been hard.. my 18 yr old dog that we have had for 16 years was not doing well last night and passed away this afternoon... having a hard struggle wanting to do ANYTHING right now... trying to maintain positivity and know she had a terrific life.. I am going to miss her.. we don't have children and she was our 'first child' 2 years after we married... it's going to be strange around here for a while..

    Feeling somewhat better today.. stomach bug still hanging on but it's not keeping me down. My Besty joined SlimKicker today and is running with me now!! AND I'm 88% of the way to Level 6 and my next reward!!!!!

      Goodness, I just now logged back on and saw this! lol It was a great run and we all accomplished our goals so that's all that matters. Now I'm sure it'd be a tight race to get off the sofa to get candy bar! I feel so out of shape. Come on New Years!

      Alright, way to go! I love trail running; I think it's more interesting and easier on the body (usually) than road running.

      Thanks! I'm excited to try another :) I've always loved hiking and we have tons of mountains nearby so I can actually train without too much driving effort .. come to think of it, my back yard has some fairly steep hills.. now to just blaze a trail through the woods!!!

      I'm enjoying it so far! I am not on the strict program, just using the vids for my strength training. It's simple to follow and he's good about pushing you to try a little harder but also to listen to your body, keep track of what you do and not hurt yourself :)

      yes it is!! :D I've never been a true junk food junkie, always tried to be fairly healthy.. but still had vices: soda, chips, candy..chocolate..mmmmmmmmmm chocolate.... but now I just limit the chocolate, cut out the rest of the crap and enjoy my veggies and fruits and nuts :) Sleep better, more energy during the day and looking better every day too! :D
