poor planning + boredom = recipe for disaster ( devoured every sugar containing goodie in my pantry). I had to restart many nearly complete challenges too... However put on a skirt that I haven't worn since last Spring and it's nice and lose! Just what I needed to jump back into the game!!!

I feel great! I made a new recipe last night for dinner: Vietnamese tofu and string beans. The first time I've ever cooked with lemongrass or coconut oil. Not just delicious, the novelty interested my daughter into cooking with me and she requested the leftovers for her lunch ;-)

Challenges keep coming... My in-laws are visiting and my son requested homemade apple pie ( my mother in-law makes the absolute best). Along with "suffering" the aroma while baking, I've turned down numerous offerings to have a slice and since she made two, there's still some sitting on the kitchen counter beckoning me! If I can do it, all you fellow SKrs can too!!! ;-)

Yeah! Got my level 3 reward in time to wear it for Saturday's Bikram posture clinic. Was tired of staring at myself for 90 min in the same getup!

I was NOT looking forward to my egg dinner last night ( maxed out on carbs early in the day). But, I'm happy to say that my omelet was delicious ( 1 whole, 2 whites, crumbled feta with herbs and spoon of fresh salsa) and I had zero cravings or desire to snack later! I might be on to something here...

Curse the salad man who threw two scoops of farro into my chopped salad, blasting my carbs for the day off the charts! Looks like another egg & cheese scramble for dinner....

Reached level 3 this weekend and looking forward to getting my reward this week but strangely more let down by the appearance of the weight loss achievement graph ( the scale seriously needs changing- the bars aren't perceptively smaller when losing a single pound!)

Trying to figure out why the same exercise would be 1431 calories burned the first three times I logged it in but today was only 715?!

Just got news of a manditory long weekend due to asbestos abatement! How sweet - an easy Mon to fit in an extra Bikram class!!

Who knew a 100 g serving of chickpeas contains 10 grams of sugar!! I've only been "in the green" for sugar one day in the past 7. AAarghh

Hit the wall last night...after dinner I was still ravenous even though I was already a few hundred calories over my limit. At least I skipped the bowl of ice cream and opted for some pistachios. Today is a new beginning!

It happens. But one night of binging will not undo a long period of exercise and eating right. Just get back on track and keep the cheats to minimum, and you'll still see a difference. Congrats on the looser clothing! Definitely a good feeling. :)

well, I guess the good news is... you don't have any more goodies in your pantry! Congrats on the loose fitting clothing!

Sherri yeah that's a tough one. I go thru that all the time. Now I have 10 days travel to India where I come from and I love the food when I travel back. This time I need to just be a good boy and keep on eating right and still enjoy what's out there.

Sounds like you're doing great! Homemade apple pie?? Yeah, I'd be wearing nose plugs or something because the smell of that would be sooo hard to resist!

@HaCee How'd you do it? I'm trying to get my husband to kick the habit. He did stop drinking soda but has traded it for store bought iced tea which is loaded with sugar. Any tips?

For me I have to not cheat and drink one a day. I can't have one at all! My husband still drinks a couple a day but I have to be very strict with myself. I just keep me bottled water in the refrigerator and drink 4 of them a day. I have a hard ime with milk too :) I can drink loads of it. But I have to keep it in check. At first it was really hard but the longer I don't drink it the less I want it :)

      Sherri3425 days ago

I agree. For me it was wine. Not such a bad thing except every night a couple of glasses and then I wouldn't necessarily eat a healthy dinner! Its easier for me to go without rather than trying to regulate with an open bottle on the fridge!

      awallick3425 days ago

      what is farro?

    • img

      Sherri3425 days ago

Awallick, Farro is a type of wheat that was among the first plants to be domesticated in the Middle East. It is low yielding and has been largely replaced over the centuries by other crops, but it remains as a relict species in mountainous areas of Europe and Asia. Farro grows in wild and cultivated varieties, and it is still a popular food in some areas of the world, notably Italy. It's delicious but is densely carb packed!

You must be talking about the graph on the mobile app ...yes? If you are, I totally agree, the progress is virtually imperceptible. The line chart on the online website, on the other hand, is pretty good. Of course with that one they only have the 14-day and month options. They need to add 30, 60, 90-day options for the line chart.

    • img

      HaCee3427 days ago

I just checked out the online chart for weight and I like it a lot better! You can see your progress!!! Wish they could put that on the app :) it really helps to see a better progress

      Sherri3427 days ago

Yes, the online version is a bit more encouraging. Thanks!

how much weight have you lost?

    • img

      IWillBePit3430 days ago

i believe your body gets used to doing certain exercises every day maybe it's time to change up your routine or increase the time or difficulty while doing this exercise

    • img

      Sherri3430 days ago

I would expect the calories burned to go down if my weight had dropped but I haven't logged in a new weight... Have to see next time I log in a session to se what happens!

    • img

      NathalieS3430 days ago

They might have updated some of the calculations for calories burned. I don't know if they did, but I know that some of the calculations were way higher than for the same exercise on other websites or on gym equipment and heart rate monitors. (see the 'early adopter's forum for discussions on current bugs).

@Sherri The best part was by the end of this sugar clense type diet was that everything tasted sweet and richer. I've always drank my coffee white, but I was able to get away with a splash of milk and it was almost too rich for me. Rye bread has the least sugar (and makes the best grilled cheese) if you want an easy way to cut some sugar out.

@Sherri Sugar is really hard to give up and it's been stuffed into EVERYTHING. I totally feel you on this one. Your body can be just as addicted to sugar as it can be to caffeine! You can read about it here (http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/eating-mindfully/201204/sugar-addiction) One of the hardest diets I've ever done had me give up sugar for a WEEK and then after that I only could consume 20g a day.

That was a good choice! I find that nuts can really quench an appetite and they're so much better for you.
