Can someone give me some advice? Since the day I started SlimKicker, a little over a week ago my weight has not moved a pound! I'm always under my catagories and I always log my food and exercise. What can I change to see some changes? I only have 5 pounds to lose to be at my goal weight!

I'm proud of myself for not cheating on my challenges! I didn't do one, so I quit it. I can always restart instead of cheating!

My calorie intake is always realllllly low but my carb and sugar are always high (when I say always, I mean the past two days lol) How would that impact the actual weight lost?

@SlimKickerAdmin Hey! I was thinking about writing an article on P90X and the new P90X2, an in depth comparison. Is that something you'd be interested in?

About 3 months :) I don't do a whole lot of ab work, most of the compound lifts work your core as well - but 80% of ab definition is made through eating right :)

I actually just read that! I just started doing Ab Ripper X(again, it's been years) and I love it. Hopefully with eating right I'll see results quickly :)

If you stick with it, it will happen :) is Ab Ripper X a P90x thing? I recognise the name for some reason :P

@SophiiEffinJones Hi Sophii, It sounds like you have the last few stubborn lbs. that won't budge. One of the big issues often not discussed in 'weight loss' is the preservation of lean muscle which determines your metabolic rate. Our body looks at fat as essential, we have to provide the body everything it needs nutritionally before it will 'release' the fat we don't need. I've recently opened a clinic and help people with this very thing. I'd be happy to share some ideas if you like. Sending my best~ Derek

Thank you! A medical professional told me that when losing weight, you lose inches before pounds because the fat turns into lean muscle (or something along those lines). Does that sound right?

    • img

      droldert3475 days ago

Sophii, My apology on the delayed response. I'm not sure what was shared with you or the context of the statement. When we are trying to lose fat we have to make sure we are still providing the necessary nutrients to support our muscles. Results will be seen on the scale, yes, but the most valuable results in regards to health are when you're losing inches (that's the sign of fat storage being removed). Please feel free to be in contact. droldert@gmail.com

@SophiiEffinJones Have you tried Going off carbs?... lots of organic greens and veggies and some meat, eggs, cheese. No white sugar no fake sugar, no white bread no white rice no pasta unless its whole wheat or spinach.

If you only have five pounds to lose, you might not need to lose any more weight. It sounds like you're doing the right things. So that 5 pounds that won't budge might be extra muscle. OR you might not be getting accurate calorie counts for your exercise which means you might be going over your calorie goal without knowing it.

I dont think so, my cals are always hundreds below the limit. No dangerously low, just lower. I think you might be right about the muscle though but I'm not sure! I think I'll dry drinking more water too and see if that helps!

Before anything, what are you eating and how are you exercising?

    • img

      launcelotfitness3475 days ago

First of all, the fact that you had surgery 3 weeks ago; depending on the type of surgery, the healing process of your body may add a few extra pounds as the muscles and tissues heal themselves. Secondly, it seems you've taken a few days off from time to time. I have found that with the majority of my clients, consistency and dedication get you to your goals 70% faster. And finally, water is a great idea! Try drinking 8-10 glasses of COLD water every day!

Ivega97 - completely healthy diet and exercise, nothing high in cals or carbs. Launcelotfitness - I haven't taken a day off from working out or eating right, just getting on this site once or twice; too busy. But I've kept on my diet perfectly. I was told by a medical professional today that you lose inches before pounds because the fat will turn into lean muscle; which if true would explain why my clothes are getting looser but my scale staying the same.
