Day one of two moving days... getting the big stuff to a friend's apartment storage today, taking the little stuff home with me (hopefully) tomorrow. Should be easy to stay healthy, especially considering the only food I have left is in the form of frozen vegetables and maybe some apples.

Found a "Naked" juice in my fridge that I'd forgotten about. Fabulous breakfast for my last day of my Med/Surg semester ^.^

Today will be awesome. My big final in the am, maybe pinning down an apartment for next semester in the afternoon... might as well rock on my food choices as well! ;)

When I mess up and eat too much one day/night it's really hard for me not to try to cut back on my calories like WHOA the next day... sometimes I succeed, but every time I do it leaves me ravenous the next day, pretty much defeating the whole purpose. Let it go, continue to do better. That's the real answer!

Going on a cooking spree... making loads of veggies/ stir fries/ healthy snacks and putting them in containers and bags with the calorie count on them so I can just grab them and go this week! Finals are a bitch, man, don't need to make this harder than it already is!

Last night was rough. Definitely went over with the booze, but still made decent food choices, so I'm not too mad at myself. This just means now I have to be good tomorrow, where I had originally intended to let myself indulge a little :P

Used my "cheat meal" from leveling up to eat a bunch of quaker crisps... I don't think I'll be using cheat meals as a reward anymore. Even though I probably about broke even on calories today (hard workout was hard) I still feel kind of guilty. Oh well.

Made a cup of chamomile tea... I have had my dinner and planned dessert, no more food. Done for the day, done, done, done. (Do you hear that, brain?! I said NO!)

I'm a little bothered by the fact that there isn't a distinction between fruit sugars and other kinds... fruit is almost the only place I get sugar from, so I'm not precisely worried about it, I just don't like seeing things go red! The fact that I've had "too much" fiber, however, is just plain entertaining.

Over on carbs and sugar, more concerned about the sugar than the carbs, but that's ok. At least I got half an hour of running in there as well!

      Vegasaurus3328 days ago

lol, I have no idea... I did 2 carloads all by myself (there were even stairs involved) and then had help with my mattress, so I figure at least I've earned myself some graham crackers, tea and fruit after dinner.

ooh, it's like finding a few dollars in your coat pocket lol have you ever had the Bolthouse Farms drinks? if so, do you prefer the Naked drinks over them?

Congrats on completing Med/Surg! My roommate just finished that herself. And I love green Naked. (Bolthouse's chai is okay, but prefer green Nakeds. Depends on flavor.)

I only really enjoy the berry Bolthouse but they're so big, they last me all day long. is the green Naked the one that tastes a little like barley grass?

Oh, my whole family knows I eat vegan and yet whenever I visit home they always ask "this has cheese in it, is that okay?" or "this has egg in it, is that okay?" I don't know what's so hard to figure out about 'no animal products'

I'd throw it in the garbage. Right in front of that person. Pet peeve is "Food Pushers"

    • img

      Vegasaurus3340 days ago

Unfortunately I didn't get to say much as she just threw it in front of me and ran away. She's well intentioned, but she just doesn't think sometimes. She has pretty terrible eating habits, so to be honest I don't even think she truly understands that I mean "all the time" when I say vegan and no junk (unless very special occasion.)

Agree. That's why I don't enter some of the fruits I eat. A couple of fruits and the sugar goes over.

      Silverfire3341 days ago

      Also agree!

My understanding of metabolism is relatively basic, but I don't think they count separately because your body doesn't treat them any differently. As far as it's concerned, glucose is glucose whether you're getting it from a fruit or in white crystaline form, and fructose is rather similar.

    • img

      teuffles3341 days ago

(The regulation for how much you store with fructose is a bit different, though). So it actually doesn't make that much sense to count sugar separately, even though I'm sure your body is happy with all that fiber, vitamins, etc. AND it would be great for my little (frequently red) bar, too.

    • img

      Vegasaurus3341 days ago

Actually they are metabolized a bit differently! Fructose enters your blood stream directly and is metabolized by the liver, meaning it doesn't trigger insulin production (it has a low glycemic index). That avoids the "rise and crash" of table sugar and also avoids the nasty effects of having lots of insulin floating around for long periods of time. [insulin-bad.]

Hey, you can change your macronutrient goals by going to settings. I'd say you know what your body needs more than a pre-set computer program.
