Need to get back on the weight loss wagon, but it's so hard with chronic pain. I found some pictures of myself at my lowest weight and I'm so miserable.

Walked almost an hour instead of taking the trolley - in the heat! My quads are dying from squats yesterday, but I won't let that stop me :)

I wish this site would divide sugars from fruit and added sugars. I don't care as much how much naturally occurring sugar I'm eating - I want to make sure I'm eating little to no added sugars.

I need more fat and fiber, less sugar and carbs! Even when I'm eating super clean and healthy, it's still a challenge to balance.

In the past 9 months, I've had 2 surgeries and gained 80 lbs of the 120 I lost. I'm devastated, but that was a severe reality check. I need to buckle down and lose the weight. No excuses.

Doing ok. Went to the gym yesterday, got a lot of good groceries. So exhausted (currently helping my bf take care of his sick mother, and it's taking its toll). Trying to persevere and not let it affect my eating!

Although I don't know your medical issues, I know many who have alleviated or eliminated their medical issues simply be evaluating their intake (diet). Watching what you eat is critical but more importantly is reaching a healthy weight & learning new habits of health.

Totally agree- it always says I'm over my limit when all I've eaten is fruit

      Also agree.

      kaetherink3123 days ago

Yeah, so on board with this. I LOVE fruit -- it fills me up and makes processed sugars taste saccharine and gross. But I'm always getting that annoying "You're over your sugar daily limit" pop-up!

    • img

      aburke6263123 days ago

Glad I'm not the only one! I guess I will just change my stupid sugar limit so it stops bothering me.ed

I was thinking the EXACT same thing when I joined the site (about a year ago now) however, I learned very quickly, that sugar is still sugar. I started cutting myself back to ONE fruit a day (usually an apple), and it felt like INSTANTLY I was loosing more weight and keeping it off! (I've lost almost 30lbs this year, and mostly just from changing my diet!).. Yes fruit is better for you than a chocolate bar, but veggies which are lower in sugar are even better! Try it!

    • img

      BoosMommy3123 days ago

You have to be careful with natural sugar, as it also contains calories and can affect weightless if too much is consumed.

    • img

      kaetherink3123 days ago

True true! But it's just that fruit is such a better choice than so many other foods that I'd rather let it go. It's really hard to overeat, too.

I have no idea how I'm not getting as much fiber as I'd like - I eat so, so many vegetables! It's hard to cut calories and eat enough fat sometimes - I need more avocados and nuts.

    • img

      hakuna_matata3123 days ago

i never got enough fiber, someone suggested fiber one bars. theyre delicious and have some fiber, not all you need for the day, but a good amount.

    • img

      aburke6263123 days ago

Fiber one bars are good and I used to eat them but I try not to eat anything packaged. I think I just need more fibrous veggies and beans!

Surgery can really throw a wrench into things...Just remember, weight loss is like 80% nutrition and only about 20% exercise, so you can get yourself back on track with your eating habits while you are healing and waiting to workout. Also, walking (if you can) is an excellent workout!
