6 for 6! Getting in SOME exercise every day. This morning, it was 35 minutes of circuit training focused on upper body & abs + a little stretching. Tomorrow, I've got another run on the docket before going out of town for a long weekend. Feels GREAT to be finding my workout mojo again.

5 for 5: 2.8 miles this morning for a quick outdoor run. I sure felt like my pace was a lot faster than it was...regardless, I got out there in the dark & drizzle.

I'm 4 for 4: 4 days, some type of exercise EVERY day. I jogged twice (3.1 mi & 4.1 mi) & did 2 strength training workouts. C'mon exercise habit...kick back in!!

35 easy-pace minutes on the treadmill + 15 minute abs. I am definitely not 100% well yet, but the exercise really helped me to get in a good frame of mind for the day.

Sick...again! But, I stayed up last night to cook up a huge pot of homemade chili for my family & I for dinner. Being prepared for meals is critical to making good choices. While I have been slightly derailed from my exercise plan, I'm staying 90% on my food plan...and 100% within my calories. Mr. Scale, I will you to respond in kind. :)

After a few days of being off-track, I am fully ready to stay focused this week & upcoming weekend. I love how much better I feel when I'm eating whole foods & staying away from un-natural sweets. Fruit, plain yogurt, sweet veggies are all fine; cake, ice cream, muffins are NOT (even those that are made with wholesome ingredients).

Not my best day yesterday in terms of food choices. Funny how eating processed foods make me want to eat more, in general! Clearly, my body is far more satiated with whole foods. Right back on the wagon today. There's no room for self-pity here. 4 miles on the docket for tomorrow. YIPES. I haven't run that far in months...

3.2 miles this morning. Training for a 5k at the end of the month. My original goal was time; then, due to lack of training, it turned into "finish the race". While I don't think my original goals are reasonable, I'm at least feeling like I should be able to beat last year's 5k time...I still have 23 days :)

What is everyone eating? I cannot get to my daily total calories without blasting through my allocated sugar & carb allotments; plus, I get no where near my fat intake, which feels really high. I do eat plenty of healthy fats from nuts, olive oil, avocado, flaxseed, salmon, etc. So it isn't because I'm not consuming those foods...

I've recommitted to maintaining my 60 pound weight loss. That means I have 7 pounds to take off, and am looking to lose another 7 after that. It's all about being healthy & active. I'm 41 years old with 2 small kids (4 & 6) and I need to stay fit to keep up with them!

i have been on this site for months now, and i have slowly watched people join, work hard and then never be seen again. Here I am, still, logging all my foods and weight.. I have lost over 10lbs (my goal) and have been keeping it off! you can do it. ONE DAY AT A TIME!

The biggest victory can only happen with small, little victories over time. Make even one good choice today, and YOU are successful! The battle is won or lost in your mind. If you make up your mind to do something, your body will follow. Every time.

I have trained myself to do the following. It must be practiced awhile before it really takes. When I look at a Symphony bar or chocolate chip cookies etc. I tell myself they are EVIL, because they are. There are not good but evil. It has helped me a lot.

    • img

      ctminnesota3173 days ago

Thanks, all! @GrizzledAtoms - Bwahahaha! My kids adore cinnamon rolls; Even at 2+ years of weight loss maintenance, they are STILL so tempting to me. I have to remind myself that they are the kids' food, not my food :) Stacy's cinnamon sugar pita chips are a pretty good second... @cyberbidder - I try hard not to put moral labels on food. I think it gives food way more power than it should have! The mind is powerful, though, so I have no doubt that this can work!

@gondo1977 - I'm in the Twin Cities. Nothing that stuck down here (although Northern MN had 6 inches of snow on Friday!), but it was absolutely invigorating to run in the cool, dry air vs. the humidity & heat from this past summer!

Just went into settings & reallocated my allotments to something that feels better for me. 25% Protein, 37.5% Carbs, 37.5% Fat. I also adjusted my daily sugar uptake a bit higher with the self-discipline that it must come from real food sources - not refined junk. That goes for all my food, though! :)

    • img

      Dalbuc3180 days ago

Most people have issues with those two measures.Fruits will usually smash your sugar limits. Adjusting is good like you did. I really ignore the sugar measures because as long as I leave out refined sugars I'm not concerned about fruit sugars,

I struggle with sugars, too! because 1. I am awful about finding refined sugars and 2. I'll eat a whole cup of grapes and feel terrible that I've blown my limit. this makes me feel better, actually. :)

Where did you find settings? I am always over my sugar limit also. Thanks.

    • img

      dalsizzle3180 days ago

I decided to just disregard the carbs and sugar settings....I'm (mostly) vegetarian so my diet consists of Greek yogurts, fruits, kale, quinoa, black beans, cheese, oatmeal, various nut butters, salmon, halibut, whole grain breads, and salads, and I ALWAYS go into the red with my carbs/sugar......

    • img

      margo3180 days ago

Thanks for posting. I rarely have refined sugars. Nuts and berries with a little yogurt blows my sugar allotment. Yet it's week three of this diet and I haven't lost any weight. Frustrated to no end.
