Had planned to do the 300 workout this morning. I'd invited some others who go to the same gym to join in.. 7 guys doing the 300 workout together was quite the scene. A workout that always humbles - yet posted a new PR today :)

Having a healthy shake for dinner after having a big lunch. Great article I read on just how important proper diet & nutrition is for body composition compared to the classic notion of working out and trying to burn all those extra calories. @SophiiEffinJones Hi Sophii, It sounds like you have the last few stubborn lbs. that won't budge. One of the big issues often not discussed in 'weight loss' is the preservation of lean muscle which determines your metabolic rate. Our body looks at fat as essential, we have to provide the body everything it needs nutritionally before it will 'release' the fat we don't need. I've recently opened a clinic and help people with this very thing. I'd be happy to share some ideas if you like. Sending my best~ Derek

Thank you! A medical professional told me that when losing weight, you lose inches before pounds because the fat turns into lean muscle (or something along those lines). Does that sound right?

Sophii, My apology on the delayed response. I'm not sure what was shared with you or the context of the statement. When we are trying to lose fat we have to make sure we are still providing the necessary nutrients to support our muscles. Results will be seen on the scale, yes, but the most valuable results in regards to health are when you're losing inches (that's the sign of fat storage being removed). Please feel free to be in contact. droldert@gmail.com
