I've lost 22 pounds so far and am finally in decent enough form to try adding new exercises. I'm on day one of the Power90 program and was actually able to keep up for the full 30 minutes. I'm going to be sore tomorrow!

Gained weight for the first time in 3 months of weight loss. Really disappointed in myself. I've stuck to my diet and plan the whole way.

I've been pretty consistent with my routine, but the weight loss is slowing down. I'm scared that it'll stop...any suggestions to avoid a weight loss plateau?

Can't seem to find a way to kick carbs. Totally able to stay under on calories and etc, but always over on carbs even before I make it to dinner.

Don't be disappointed! It happens, maybe just try to "pay attention" to everything your eating and make some simple changes!! Or maybe it was just a bad week!! You'll be okay :)))

Remember that if you are exercising you will also build muscle! But don't beat yourself up over a slight weight gain!! Keep up the good habits and kick it up a notch with some extra cardio if you can .. your body might have hit a plateau where it's now used to your new activity level... Good Luck and don't give up!!!!

Look at what you just told us... "...first time in 3 months..."! Sounds to me like you've been doing awesome. My weight goes up and down but over the long term, it's dropping. You're going to have those times so don't beat yourself up. It can be a fluctuation, a plateauing, or muscle building. Just switch things up and keep going!

Mix it up! With exercise, if you're doing lots of cardio, do more weights, if you're doing all weights, do more cardio, if you're only running, then do some biking, try Zumba, yoga, TRX, boxing, Ju-Jitsu, circuit training, etc. Same with your diet... mix it up!

It is absolutely natural that your weight loss is slowing down: when you lose weight, your calorie intake to maintain that weight (BMR) is also smaller. Thus, if you eat the same amount of calories, you will lose less as your weight goes down. To maintain the same pace of weight loss, you will have to a) eat even less calories, or b) exercise more. My advice would be not to eat less: either accept the slower pace or exercise more.

And the weight loss will not stop as long as your calorie intake is within the limit SlimKicker calculated (that limit is less than the daily calorie intake required to maintain your desired weight). So cheer up! This is a pivotal point in every diet :-)

I've heard from many people that a 24 hour fast kick-starts their weight loss again. You don't have to go 24 hours without eating. Just eat dinner at 6, and then don't eat until 6 the next day. Starvation mode doesn't kick in until 72 hours without being fed. when your body is in a fasted state, it runs on the fat in your body. This is why it's effective for kicking a plateau. It isn't for everyone, but it's in my toolbox. :)

Er, I meant MORE than 24. As in, more than a day. :)

That is fabulous! You might also try a pair of Fila Skeletoes. I've experienced much less knee pain since swapping footwear.

I eat a lot of sandwiches.. and lately i have been maing them open-faced, with only one piece of bread.

I've been having the same thing with both carbs and sugar lol. Where do you think you're falling down? I've kicked cereal or toast for breakfast and switched to a fried egg (on days where I get up early enough!) Sandwiches for lunch are gone in favour of veg sticks and dip or sandwich fillings wrapped in lettuce. Then dinner I try and eat lots of veg before starting on any potatoes in the hopes I'll be full before I gorge myself on delicious carbohydrates

Breakfast is a big killer for me. I don't have time to cook a full meal and have to choose from things you can eat in the car on the way to work. Add that to the small bits of carbs that seem to add up during the day (I'm a bigger fan of fruits than vegetables), and tada - I'm over on carbs and sugars.

      Agrien3295 days ago

Maybe try looking at what the carbs are from? You're going to get carbs, anyway. You have to - it's part of your energy source. lol But complex carbs (fruits and veggies) will at least give a better nutrient base forwhat you DO eat, as well as whole grains. Keeping in mind that the natural sugar content is different for each - this can have a bearing on the carb issue...). :) Oh! And if you want to avoid bread? Try wrapping your 'sandwich' in a large leafy green. lol
